Looking at a 2000 2500 V-10.
Body has 265,000 / 135,000 on engine / 65,000 on tranny.
It is pretty clean, some rust on bottom doors edges but not bad.
Has new tires, shocks, Gibson exhaust, headers.   4" ish skyjacker lift. Front end (ball joints, tre) 1 year old.  Has k&n intake, throttle body spacer, jet or sct chip.
Sellers claims almost 20 MPG hiway 16ish city, did not see that iwth our 1996 dodge 2wd 1500 iwth a 318. Seems hi to me.  Any thoughts on the MPG.
Anything else to check on the truck?

city expect 8-9 same towing, highway unloaded 14 max

My mom has a 98 with 120k sitting in the driveway with a spun bearing. For mileage she says 12 city and highway with a 5 speed. Used it to tow my Xj once, had plenty of power, but didn't tow far enough to check for mileage.

I've had 2 V10 Dodges. My auto got 8-9 city and 12-13 hwy. My 5 speed got 9-10 city and 16-17 hwy.

Lifted with 33s on it, forget it. 4-5 city and 10-11 hwy. They are gas hogs. I'm sure he has not hand calculated those claims.

I now have a 07 CTD and will never go back to a gas tow pig.

Old thread, but my dad had a 95 3500 V10 auto ext cab long bed dually for 15 years. It would get 10mpg. City. Highway. Towing 8000lbs. Didn't seem to matter. With gas hitting $1.55 at the moment, the fact that you can get a Ram of that vintage for 1/2 or less of a diesel, its a good deal - at least until the gas prices revert.
