    Brakes Vibration

The recall had nothing to do with warped rotors. They were recalled because the composite rotors could possibly shear off due to excessive corrosion in states that use salt on the roads in winter. If they were only fitted in July, I reckon you could have a case for a warranty replacement on the...

D30 and 35- Why the most discarded axles on earth?

I've been abusing my 4.0HO 5 speed XJ on stock 30/35s with 3.73 for 2 years on aired down 31s and the only breakages I've had were entirley my own fault. Exploded the spider gears in the rearend after the fourth full power attempt at a 1 in 1 climb with a big dip that launched the rearend...

    Dana 30 crush spacer

I'm about to reassemble an '84 XJ Dana 30, which was originally built with preload shims. Can I use the more usual crush spacer instead? Most of the other 30s I've built have this and I can't see any other difference.

    Wanted MPH speedometer for '88XJ

My friend in the UK needs an MPH speedometer to fit his '88 Canadian XJ. It's a Renix 4.0 with Laredo package. The speedo is cable drive with trip meter. The one from the '84 2.5 I'm parting out doesn't fit. Either the speedometer on it's own or a complete cluster to fit an '88 would do. His...

    Another shimmy-wobble question/problem, I don't think it's DW though...

They don't cause or mask shimmy, they're there to damp the hamonics which can build up from a single bump and escalate into the dreaded wobble.

Pony, what about either using a TJ D44 rearend with fabbed brackets, or is there a chance that the TJ shafts and brakes will fit the Waggy rearend?

    hand throttle

The hand throttle is good if you're driving over a level but undulating surface. You can drive much smoother 'cause your foot isn't bouncing up and down on the gas as the jeep goes up and down.

    Kj CRD engine swap

I have a WJ 2.7 CRD. The Mercedes Benz 5 cylinder diesel and 5 speed electronic auto tranny is sweeeet. It also does better diesel mileagethan my KJ CRD with manual tranny. The WK has a 3.0 V6 CRD with the same tranny and that is truly AWESOME.

    Kj CRD engine swap

The diesel XJs we have in the UK had the VM Motori 2.5 turbo diesel. The KJ CRD has what is basically the same block but with a belt driven DOHC top end. The late model '99-2000 diesel XJ used the T3500 5 speed, which the earlier KJ CRD had, so this should all fit in easily. The hardest job will...
