I'm open to a meet and greet as long as it's on a Sunday. I'm always up for a run in the Tillmook State Forest (AKA Brown's Camp). I hit those trails often so I can be trail lead if needed.
We could also do something at LaDee Flats but I've never been ther so we would need somebody else to be...
When you make your own hard lines I highly recommend the Titan Tools 51535 3/16-Inch Double Flaring Tool. I think it is a copy of the Eastwood version but a few dollars cheaper and works really well for double flaring your own brake lines much better than those crappy multi sized flaring kits...
When I did mine I used bulk hard line and custom bent and flared it myself and added the fittings. I put my T on the top of the diff where the Ford 8.8 had the Antiloc break switch I think. That is where I put my axle Breather and brake line T fitting. I used the Rough Country Suspension...
Yeah, I definitely grabbed them up when I was there and they only billed me for "tie rod ends" at $10 total.
I'm running OE sway bar ends without quick disconnects currently. I'll give these a try next time I'm working on my font end and swap these in for a bit and see how they do until I...
Okay, thanks guys. I appreciate the information. I though they looked like a cool design but it makes sense now why I don't see heim joint sway bar disconnects on the market anymore. So much for my great junk yard find.
I just ordered a Dorman H380528 Hydraulic Brake Hose off Amazon. It's basically the same as other side. I also made my own hard lines accross the top of the axle housing and used the Rough Country extended rear brake line (25 inches long) to the T-junction. Worked great with my 4" on lift.
I may have made a great find at my local Pick-N-Pull. I found these on the only XJ in the lot but they are not a sway bar disconnect design I recognize from when I was shopping for disconnects in the past.
They have a Heim joint at the top that attaches to a flat bracket that attaches to the...
Nice write up. I missed what you did for your parking brake. I did this same axle swap this year on my 1991. I was lucky enough that my OE park brake cables worked just fine with the little adapter lever from The Flop Shop.

Good stuff! Great pics. Those are some formidable trails. Good to see you guys tackle them. Thanks for posting up the pics, gives me some goals to shoot for.
I was never able to run anything bigger than 30x9.50 tires when I had a 2” lift on either of my previous XJs (pre 97 bodies)
My current 1991 XJ has 3” of lift and I get some rub sometimes in sharp turns with my 31x10.50s. I trimmed my inner front fenders and the bottom inner sections of the...
Just following up here on my original post incase anyone else is looking for this information down the road and finds this thread. The Advanced Adapters NP242 SYE kit extends about 7 1/4 inches from the t-case body.

Buying or having a custom drive shaft from Adams or Tom Woods or the like would be my last resort. I very much prefer the ability to recycle a front drive shaft so that it is both cheep and easy to source from local yards or individuals parting out their Jeeps. Thanks for the input though.
I just ordered an Advanced Adapters SYE kit for the NP242j in my 1991 4L Auto XJ with 3 inch OME lift. I'm trying to get an idea of the drive shaft I'm going to need without ordering a custom one if I can avoid it.
I have heard that often people can use a ZJ with auto and np242 front drive...
I have a 91 XJ 4door and I'm looking to replace both front doors. Ideally I'm looking for manual doors because I would prefer hand crank windows but my jeep is a Limited with full electric (when it works) so power doors could work too. If anybody knows of any let me know.
Thanks,
Clay
