    Question About Military Bases...

Check the news for Yuma, AZ. Every once in a while the base works out a deal with the city to do live drills and simulations for the marines about to ship out. They have 'insurgents' (Marines in civvies) fly in on choppers in different places around the city and meet with drivers, then half...

high idle in park and neutral

*facepalm* zombie threads for the win... For the fella that asked, the IAC sits next to the TPS on the throttle body. Use the search tool to narrow it down more if you need to, it is worth knowing tho.

No part time light--search showed nothing

good bargaining tactics right there yall. ^ :D My part time light never worked either, so long as the 4wd did I was happy.

high idle in park and neutral

ditto to the above regarding the IAC, its just good maintenance. But I'd still go hunting for a vacuum leak, its your most likely culprit. just... do one thing at a time, so as to troubleshoot properly.

    wait to do taxes?

I promise no bull, jarhead to flyboy. ;) You could easily do those taxes yourself, oooor... I just used h&r block's online prep for the fed and e-filed, same as I've been doing for years. Online thru them its free(unless you really want to give them money for a handholding session) and you...

Want a ferarri? Want a Jeep too? Heres somethin for ya

I kinda want to go give my old Waggy a hug now, and promise her I'd never, ever do anything like that. Idiots destroyed at least two perfectly good marvels of engineering, and I'm not talkin' the fart rocket.

    Grand Wagoneer forum?

Well folks, while I wait to get my xj project started, I stumbled across a '83 Grand Wagoneer Limited for a whopping $360. It has a host of minor issues, but runs with over half its vacuum lines disconnected. (not missing, prev guy did a lot of half-finished work on it) Rebuilt tranny and...

    Lexus 1UZFE 4.0 V8 into a Jeep Cherokee.

the 1uz has an enormous amount of potential...but the torque curve is it's biggest drawback. when you really get down to it though, the inline6 4.0 is IMHO the best engine for the cherokee's intended application. Stroke it and it's just taht much better!. A 4.0 1uz engine has enough power to...

Old Man Emu, who has it

Had an OME HD suspension under the old XJ, see above posts for how it rated. It's more expensive, especially for the small amount of lift...but the quality is way higher than the rest of the industry.

    Lexus 1UZFE 4.0 V8 into a Jeep Cherokee.

ah, ok. Yeah. too bad too, for a while it seemed like he had progress. Then we realized he was dumb. If the torque curve issue can be resolved, the smallblock aluminum v8 has a huge amount of potential, into the four-digit numbers. have fun making the drivetrain that'll take it. Or finding...

    Lexus 1UZFE 4.0 V8 into a Jeep Cherokee.

The first guy who got this idea started into the build, realized it was a colossal project (wiring and management-wise) and quit, near as I could find. I had this engine as well for a while and was considering the swap, but started looking at it and decided I'd be served better by parting out...

    trouble gettin' to 4lo

you'll get that around here...consider it a grumpy sort of 'welcome to the inferno' thing. Anyone who stays long enough at NAXJA is thick-skinned and knows more about XJs than they ought to. Well, most folks. I agree with the above though, regarding linkage. My old XJ had the same issue and...

TO STROKE OR NOT TO STROKE

lol...glad you found the issue man. But when you get the chance... Stroke 'er long, stroke 'er hard. Stroke 'er right and she'll stroke you righht back. :D A stroker might just be THE engine replacement for the XJ.
