Don't know if this'll help or not, but with most cruise controls I've seen, the only real mechanical difference is that where automatic trans units have one cruise shut off switch attached to the brake pedal, the manual trans cruise controls have the brake pedal switch and a second shut off...

I had a similar issue to your original problem. I also broke the input nipple off the reservoir and got a non-Mopar replacement reservoir. It leaked like a sieve where it connects to the pump. Turns out the o-ring that was supposed to seal it... wasn't. I ended up getting a batch of o-rings that...
Not knowing what your body shop might have removed, I just took pics of the entire underhood latch setup...
