Re: We lost one of our own...
Yep, first NAXJA Moab event. Remember the adventure of the road and making sure we all got there. The east/west challenge was epic. Signing of this thread so it does not get hijacked anymore out of respect for Andy.
Re: We lost one of our own...
Great to hear but sad at the same time. I keep looking for it in sale sections hoping it would pop up. Make sure if it goes for sale, I get first dibs. Took time to build that thing and it took me everywhere.
Re: We lost one of our own...
RIP Andy.
Been a long time since I have been on here and was just sitting down thinking about the old gang. Very sad to sing into this, wish I could relive some of the adventures we had. I may not be in an XJ(STUPID FOR SELLING MINE), but never forget the best...
John,
Sorry I did not see this earlier I was just out that way dropping off parts on Saturday. Went up to Calico from there and have the XJ bug again. SportTrac with 4 wheel IFS can only go so far. Sure rides like a Caddy though.
Wow a week ago and I would be rolling in an XJ again. Nice rig and INCREDIBLE Price. I went the same route you are going and while it was fun, regret not having the XJ anymore. Good luck with the sale.
Karstic, Thanks for the update. You brought a tear to my eye. I am glad to see it is still on the trail and making someone and thier family happy. That XJ was built well IMO and really defined me. I look forward to building another and if I can find Chili Pepper Red one, it would be awesome...
You serious? It is not even being used?
I was hoping she did not fall the fate of the Red XJ's. I would just like to see her around once in a while and never see her in any trail run post.
Ok I have been gone a while now, so not to good at wading through the #rap.
If you had an honest answer, thanks if you really do not know, why stir the boat to an honest question? Does anyone really know where she is now?
JoJo,
It was a stupid move but I may be starting a build in the near...
Looking over this thread thinking of one of the biggest mistakes I made, selling my 99 XJ. I am looking at building another soon as that was one of the BEST vehicles I ever had. Many memories in that ol XJ. Anyone see it on the trail? She sure is missed.
Had fun in the Jeep, though not purposely built for desert only. Was built for an all around vehicle and did extremely well out there. Even pulled out a 23' loaded toy hauler up hill when the big Chevy's couldn't. Nice to be locked and light.
John,
We'll be in Glamis as well. Camping off of Gecko Road. PM'd you my number so you can call and we can meet up or you can look for the rig.
