This is my own experience with an Mopar MAP sensor (p/n 56028303) fitted to a 1996 4.0 in June 2017 i.e. 5+ years ago:
Prior to this vehicle has been...
2nd try at making vid 'Public' so hopefully now sorted.
Quick Q: Which is 'Track 1' - uppermost or lower?
*this photo may be of use to someone researching this:
Thanks for letting me know Saudade - I did try to PM Kastein but as I say he's 'full'. I'll change the settings - please alert me if it doesn't work as I'm a still a bit of a YouTube doofus.
Appreciate the clarification on the operation of the two tracks - I hadn't actually realised there were...
Hi kastein - apologies for the delay but here's a link to a YouTube vid of sender resistence readings:

P.S. tried to PM you but you've exceeded your storage on NAXJA - need to delete some messages :)

Thank you for the offer Kastein - anything '96 specific you can PM me when you have time would be very much appreciated.
I have to do some filming for diagnosis on the XJ this week (another story!) so I'll record the resitance movement on my spare '96 sending unit and send to you. I must admit...
Kastein,
Sorry for the delay but had to hunt thru' '000s of photos on my phone (hadn't started to index my numerous XJ related shots at that time).
The key ohm readings from the INCORRECT sender on the Crown branded "1996 Jeep Cherokee Fuel Module" were:
Full: 98.5
Mid: 555.1...
Thanks muchly XJI6191 - if you don't mind that'd be really helpful. My '96 died near Exeter last month on way back from Cawsand. As ever, the recovery mechanics were pretty useless at diagosing let alone resolving the problem - "it's yer Crank sensor mate" etc. despite the alternator showing...
So you have a copy of the 'holy grail' - a hard copy 96 FSM! I've waited 5 years for a UK version to come up on ebay or elsewhere - nada.
I'll do my best to dig them out later today - taken from multimeter readings at the time. I may have a photo of the sending unit strip too showing the p/n...
If it might help Kastien I can probably dig out my 1996 specific fuel level sender readings from a few years back when I discovered that the 1996 only XJ's have the entire fuel pump/pressure valve/sender as a single module in the tank and the aftermarket sender used in the (rubbish & very...
My original heater hoses are on the way out (on a UK, RHD 1996 XJ) and I'm having trouble finding replacements which route the same way as the OE equivalents.
From what I gather from the FSM the p/ns are 4637 938 (supply) and 5503 6801 (return). I guess US Postal RHD XJs have the same...
.... and here are pics of the corroded pipe from w/pump to heater core and the inside of the thermostat housing where you can see part of the housing has broken away (but it was 28 years old!)
All these rusted pieces had entered the cooling system over the years and had now been caught by the...
Here's a link to a video of the old rad showing the sludge in the end tanks after just two years - bit of a surprise. This was running nice and cool. No over heating issues.
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/zww6BEH0W1E
I had also cut open the plastic end tanks of the rad I replaced (just to see how the trans cooler was plumbed) and each contained a surprising amount of black sludge in the bottom. Bear in mind this system had been thoroughly Thermocured and then flushed (x6 times?) prior to fitting that rad...
Another vote for Thermocure here  Helped clean out the cooling system of the abandoned '96 I rescued a few years back. That cooling system was disgusting with a significant rust build up in the engine block and radiator.
Ran a dose of Thermocure for a few hundred miles (during which...
If you click on any of the crappy pics Phoenix, you should see a much larger non-crappy pic :peace:
Now I've mastered them I like the old skool drum brakes - properly set up they work very well.
My 1996 XJ (RHD) with AW4 and 242 has had a small leak of tranny fluid since I've owned it (6+ years) so I check the level regularly and top up frequently but it's now getting worse and a pain in the rear end so I'm trying to locate the source and make it oil tight once and for all.
I'm...
OK, altho' I try to do much of the work on my XJ myself -with help from the experts on this site - there are some jobs where I neither have the facilities (I have to work on-street) nor the ability which I hand over to a local mechanic. To date he has done a great job at reasonable price and...
