    Hi , I believe we have finally found the culprit to my woe's . Bought an Alternator from the Auto Recyclers , 50$ a cheap way of getting mobile again !. Thanks to all who helped me , ive now learnt how to test a CAS,TPS and check the fuel system , so a few positives out of it all , thanks again

    Seen an example today , at around 13 volts pump put out 50psi at 11volts 30psi , I think this could be my problem.

    Hi , just on the fuel pump , discovered today that my Alternator sometimes drops under 12 volts , I think this could be the reason for my Jeep's , surging/cutting out , what would be minimum volts to keep the pump running ? , cheers.

    Just wondering , when at idle I change selector from neutral/park into or out of gear there is no blip in rpm , stays exactly the same , is this normal ?

    Yes me and helper did it a few times to make sure , voltage seemed to rise gradually together with throttle opening , thanks.

    Hi all , ive searched and received a few differing answers . I tested my TPS, 96 4.0 Auto, my results with my el cheapo DMM were 4.9 v input , 0.8 v at rest and 3.9 v at WOT , are these figures o'k' cheers.

    We tested TPS , 4.9v incoming .8v at throttle closed and 3.8v wide open , volts rising gradualy with gradual throttle opening , is this o'k' ?.

    Re-connected o2 15 minutes after last run , started up and drove around block o'k'! , go figure , im leaning towards a dodgey fuel pump perhaps ?

    OD NO ! , Went for a longer test , drove 5km all fine , stopped to buy a drink , started back up and crap again ! , drove home at 40kmh , bucking revs up and down , next idea ?

    Well disconnected o2 sensor this morning , drove around the bloke a few times and .............. truck runs fine ! , strange thing is hasn't thrown a check light yet ?

    Forgot to add , checked a couple of plugs , clean as a whistle. Next up test TPS and disconnect OS2 .

    Just a small update , sprayed cleaner in throttle and opehings , fitted new filter , checked for error codes -none, pushed in shraeder valve when running , plenty of juice , bloody thing runs as shit as before , any ideas ?

    Yep ill do it step by step , i'll borrow a fuel pressure tester tomorrow , in the mean time ive bought a fuel filter , 40 bucks at parts store 10$ on Ebay ! , oh well ! . By the way this fuel filter has something rattling around in it , is that normal ? , cheers.

    P.S. The fuel pump primes and the truck starts straight away every time , just 20 to 30 seconds latter it seems to suffer from fuel starvation , when cold that is !

    No check light , just started it and same again , stuttering till run for a while then gradualy gets better , ill try fuel filter first ,thanks.
