    Wont shift out of park.

Thanks guys. I couldn't find any loose wires so I just popped the cable off by the shifter and problem solved. It's really not the right way but at this point I just don't care anymore. My brain is pretty much trained to step on the break before shifting anyway.

    Wont shift out of park.

I just replaced the key lock cylinder on my 2001 cherokee and all of a sudden i can no longer shift out of park. Are these 2 items related in any way? Could my shift interlock have gone bad? Just wondering what I should be looking for. Thanks in advance.

New compressor hard to turn by hand

As the title states. I just got a new compressor for my 2001 cherokee but it's pretty much impossible to turn by hand. it does turn smoothly with a socket. My old one easily turns by hand. Is this normal or should I send this one back? Thanks in advance.

    AC help please

I vacuumed the system for 45 minutes. It had help -29 in. for over an hour before that. I checked for leaks with dye and so did a reputable shop in my town. They used a sniffer plus looked for dye. Nothing was found.

    AC help please

From what I understand, the condensers on these vehicles can't be flushed. I'd hate to replace the whole thing without confirmation of it being the bad part. Not sure what to do here.

Ive replaced the accumulator, condenser, line w/ orifice tube and condenser. Should I be taking the gauge readings while the electric fan is running?

    AC help please

From my understanding, the electric fan only comes on on a 2001 cherokee at a certain temp. It doesn't just come on with the AC.

    AC help please

I just added the 20 oz. of r134 as per factory spec. System was vacuumed and had no leaks. This is on a 2001 jeep cherokee. My gauges read 37 on the low side and 300 on the high. The air is blowing cool but should be much colder. What's going on here? Am I overcharged or is there air in the...

    A/C oil question

Hello everyone. I just replaced my condenser and accumulator on a 2001 cherokee. last time I did this 2 oz of oil came out of the accumulator but none from the condenser. I added 2 oz to make up for what came out. This time no oil came out of either one. I'm a bit confused. Should i add some oil...

    Going thru oil

If its up high I'd say valve cover gasket, down low oil adapter o-ring or sender. It is possible for the head gasket to weep oil as well. The valve cover would be the first thing I'd check.

    Coolant in oil

The new cylinder head from clearwater is on and it's running well. Looking at the old gasket, it appears that it rusted through in one spot. There was rust everywhere the gasket came in contact with the water jacket. This is not surprising since the po clearly neglected the cooling system and...

    Coolant in oil

Thanks! Being that this head is prone to crack there's no way I'm putting it back on. I'm leaning toward the new casting from Clearwater. This is no longer my daily driver so hopefully I can get it back up and running for a few more years.

    Coolant in oil

I just dropped the oil pan to do the rear main seal (again) and you guessed it......coolant in the oil. The last time I dropped the pan a few weeks ago there was no sign of coolant. I had suspected a cracked head because i was losing coolant for quite some time but I never saw anything in the...

    Electrical issues with lights/signals

The ground under the seat solved the blinker issue but the other problem still exists. I checked the grounds and connectors behind the spare tire. All were in good shape, cleaned the grounds anyway. Found a bad connector on the passenger side and rewired it. Problem still exists. All bulbs and...

    Electrical issues with lights/signals

I just found a diagram indicating one ground is under the passenger seat. I just replaced the floor pan and seat mount where the ground is attached and I'm guessing that ground isn't making good contact with clean metal. My fault for being in a rush. That will hopefully solve the rear right...

    Electrical issues with lights/signals

My 2001 xj has several issues that may or may not be related. First, when I hit the brakes my odometer light goes out. Also when braking the front turn signal lights come on (solid not blinking). The blinkers work but when the headlights are on the right rear flashes quickly and blinks but is...
