My 1994 4.0L has been running cold lately. It eventually warms up to "normal" (around 210 on the gauge), but during highway driving it hovers around 130-155. Sure, the gauge/sensor could be wonky but I'd rather be safe and just replace the thermostat.
I searched the threads here for some tips...
After I switch off the ignition, I'd like my radio to stay on until I open the door... and of course, stay off when I close the door again.
It seems like this would be a fairly simple project with one or two relays... maybe a capacitor, now that I think about it.
I just can't figure this out...
I was looking at the Boa 265B remote start/keyless entry system, which seems to be aimed at the do-it-yourselfer. I mean, it's on the shelf at Target, so it can't be THAT complicated, right!? :)
Anyway, I assume that most of these basic remote start systems are pretty similar. Anyone have any...
The high-pressure(?) line (the line that connects to the driver's side of the radiator) is leaking, where it connects to the rubber hose section.
Anyway, how long is that rubber section? I can only see ~1' from above... and I can't crawl underneath at the moment (it's outside at work)
Oh...
I need some new tires for my XJ. It rarely, if ever, sees any off-road action, so all-season tires are my preference. I've been looking at the BF Goodrich Long Trail in particular, and I'd like some more options. Costco has those tires for $89 installed, which fits my budget of about $60-90...
Anyone using Shell oil in their 4.0L? Costco has a case for $16... seems like a reasonable price.
I need to find cheaper oil now that Valvoline isn't giving MaxLife away anymore :(
So... in the process of removing the tank, I snapped one of the rods holding it to the frame. And at the rate the bolt is coming off the other rod, I think there's a good chance that rusty old thing is gonna snap too.
Can anyone think of an alternative strap solution? Right now, I think a...
I got the pump assembly out, and swapped the pump and strainer. Everything fit together perfectly.
However, when I try to put the assembly back in the tank, it just won't fit right.
This is a '94 with the front-mounted pump assembly, FYI. I think there are 2 problems -- the tube with the...
Problem: '94 Cherokee has trouble with cold starts.
* It will crank and crank and crank if you just get in and turn the key. It sounds like it wants to start, but just can't.
* If I let it crank a few times, turn the key back to "run", and then to "start",
-OR-
* If I give it some gas...
Anyone know if the dealers normally stock this part?
Please tell me I can just go to a dealer and pick this up tomorrow... I have plans to go up north for the weekend, and it's not going to be a fun trip hauling a dog and a canoe with my Saturn! :(
I'm putting in a new belt, and I noticed that as I tightened the bolt that sets the tension, the pump started to get "crooked"... the right side of it started moving away from the radiator.
Unfortunately I don't have a tension gauge so I don't know if I've got it too tight/too loose, but this...
