    Heater, Fan, Overheating

Thanks, guys. I'll be hitting this first thing in the a.m. Just got it home.

    Heater, Fan, Overheating

I remember installing that t-stat and it was small compared to the housing that bolted in. I remember having a hard time figuring out how to keep it in place while I screwed the bolt in. Maybe I am an idiot, but how do I hold it in place?

    Heater, Fan, Overheating

90 Cherokee 4.0L (Searched and couldn't find this combo of issues.) Girlfriend called panicked, Jeep overheated today and most of the coolant steamed out. After it cooled down, I put more coolant in, cranked it up and let it run with the cap off the bottle and it immediately started gurgling...

Loud Clunk When Putting Into Drive

So...turns out it was the rear U-joint. I am such an idiot. I was thinking big $ for a transmission or a differential rebuild or something...and it was a $16 u-joint. I couldn't tell that there was any play in it before, then I just changed it...fixed the problem. Thanks NAXJA fellas.

Loud Clunk When Putting Into Drive

No play whatsoever in the U-Joints. Definitely coming from the rear end, where the drive shaft goes into the diff. Other than the oil, what else can I check without taking stuff apart? I am thinking I will have to take it to a driveline shop. Any ideers?

Loud Clunk When Putting Into Drive

I'll check on those things. I also just thought of another couple of things that could be related. 1) My rear leaf springs are so flat they are almost inverted the other way. I know this is pretty easy to replace, I just haven't had the days off to tackle that yet, but quite a bit of sag...

Loud Clunk When Putting Into Drive

Not lifted. Bone stock when it comes to suspension and driveline. Not really a wheeler, it my DD.

Loud Clunk When Putting Into Drive

When I go from Reverse to Drive, there is a pretty loud clunk coming from the tranny area under my 90 Cherokee 4.0, 225k miles. I also notice this when I accelerate up to about 30 or 40 and then let off the gas and then accelerate again. I have searched and don't think it is engine or tranny...

    A/C Only Intermittently Working

90 XJ...Sometimes my A/C is nice and cold, other times does not seem to "come on". Blower works fine, just doesn't cool. The only patterns I notice (and they aren't always true) are: --when the A/C is on before I turn the key (and it happens to be a mild temp in the morning) it ususally stays...

No Head/taillights after replacing switch and dimmer

Ok...fixed. Stupid me. I went and rexamined the switch and harness again and discovered that an old pice of the old switch was still in the plug. Duh. No wonder it didn't work. And it was on the "H" contact which I assume means headlights. Looks like this is where the switch burnt out...

No Head/taillights after replacing switch and dimmer

I should be able to do this with the switch hanging from it's wire, right? I mean I can pull out the handle and unscrew it from the mount and just do it with it loose, as long as it is plugged in, right? I am new to some of this but *dang* determined. Oh and would a simple little circuit...

No Head/taillights after replacing switch and dimmer

SInce I have replaced both the headlight switch and the dimmer switch, what are the chances one of these is still fouled up? When I pull the headlights switch, parking lights and taillights come on, as well as guage lights, etc. That tells me the headlights switch is functional. Is that...

No Head/taillights after replacing switch and dimmer

Okay...thanks for the info. No obvious leakage from master cylinder. Replaced some fuses and now have everything except headlights. My parking lamps, taillights, everything works fine...except headlamps. When I hit the brights, I get brights, but they don't stay on. It's like if you...

No Head/taillights after replacing switch and dimmer

I searched and read through lots of posts and couldn't seem to find anything quite like this. Bottom Line: No headlights, gaugelights, or taillights even after replacing headight switch and dimmer switch. Background: 90 Cherokee Laredo. This summer, I lost my radio, a/c, and lots of lights...

    Rebuild, Reman, or Repair?

I also highly recommend Jasper. Their stuff is as good as it gets really. I bought a remanufactured 4.0---well worth the cost.

A/C, Radio, Horn, Lighter All Out

The more I research this, the more I'm guessing I will have to take off the steering wheel, etc...Is that ciorrect? $400 isn't looking too bad at this point.

A/C, Radio, Horn, Lighter All Out

Nope, no blinkers, wipers (front or back), horn, a/c, radio, lighter, clock, and I'm sure there's a couple more. Just went to the parts store, they showed me something that looked like this, roughly...where is this located on my Jeep...

A/C, Radio, Horn, Lighter All Out

On mine there is a clear box, looks like it's an aftermarket one already. It is zip-tied on the column with red, blue and I think two black wires going into it. Parts house has it ($22) but how hard would this be to install as far as the wiring? THe Stealership quoted me $400 to replace it on...

A/C, Radio, Horn, Lighter All Out

Yeah....nothing that looks like a fuse under the hood, just the relays. Maybe I am blind but it seems that I read somewhere on here that the 90's only have the drivers side, indoor fuses. As I crank the Jeep, there is about one/half second of power from those accessories...like if the ww...

A/C, Radio, Horn, Lighter All Out

Not sure about Maxi fuses??? All I have is 4 relay deals under the hood. Not real sure about that one. I have discovered, however, that on the fuse panel inside the Jeep there is a slot labeled IGN with a plugged wire in it as well as one named ACC with a plugged wire. It looks as if the...
