That stinks, I was planning on topping off there. ( my group is going to be in the area a few days after you guys) I take it the 76 station in Shaver is still open. I know it's pricey but we will only need a few gallons to top off.

By not having to buy the D44 drums,shoes, ETC. And using the 8.25 stuff.

A XJ. I thought the D44 had bigger brakes than the 8.25. I was hoping things would swap over to save some money.

Will the brake assy work from the 8.25 on a D44? I have a D44 with no brakes that I would like to swap over the 8.25 stuff.

I called the rangers yesterday. The gal I spoke with said that the Swamp won't be open for a couple of weeks due to snow and fallen timber. I asked about Red and Coyote and she said they would be open before Swamp but did not have any dates. With any luck the Fresno club will have Red and Coyote...

They are directional. It won't hurt the tire if it runs backwards. Traction might be off a bit but you will be fine. Only 1 spare would be needed.

Thanks Richard! I have only been to the Dinkey Creek ranger station for our fire permits. Is there any gas in town? We normally fill up in shaver. Many folks in our club have met you, I am looking forward to it.

We plan on going in the Southern route. If for some reason we get to Grouse before you we will not camp there. We will go see what we can find near Swamp lake. We just might see you Thursday night.
