    Good AW4 transmission cooler kit?

B&M 70268 fits nicely in front of the radiator

    Good AW4 transmission cooler kit?

Don't bypass the cooler built into the radiator; it does a lot more cooling than people think. Anyone with a gauge on their's will come to this conclusion very quickly.

Dana 35 5 speed manual question

The issue you're running up against is the Dana 35 has a "carrier break" at 3.55; 3.27 and lower gears take one carrier, 3.55 and up take another carrier. You can get an OEM TracLok limited-slip differential for the lower gear ratios, but that's pretty much your only option. The Chrysler...

The elusive master cylinger upgrade ???

My 94 XJ has a Exploder 8.8 rear, 95-96 booster upgrade (which I wholeheartedly recommend as easier than WJ), ZJ valve internals and the same pads all around. The rear locks up ever so slightly before the front, which is exactly how I like it. Installing a larger diameter master cylinder...

XJ to WJ Disc Brake Conversion Advice Needed

The arm on both knuckles for the cross-bar is slightly lower on a WJ knuckle and the TRE taper is still from the bottom side, increasing the TRE angle at both ends more than it already is. With droop, eventually the TRE will reach its limits, which certainly isn't good. Drilling out the hole...

    Fuel pump problem

What connector does yours have on it? I believe that would be the only difference between a 91-94 version and one for a 95. You can find a 91-94 model for a lot less than $250; whether it's worth swapping the connector to save money is entirely up to you... (assuming there is even a difference)

How is a '95 Fuel Pump Assembly different from one for 91-94? https://www.partsgeek.com/gbproducts/WC/2226-01441018.html

How much slop in 231j rear ouput shaft?

You have it exactly right; the nut tightens the shaft into the bearing, removing the slack.

    4 hole injectors

Seeing as it's a work vehicle, you'll save money by staying with the stock flow rate. "Lucky" for you, the 4.0 heads don't flow as well as the stock engine could utilize, so going to 4.6/4.7 with a stock head won't get you the full 18% increase in performance, and therefore demand for fuel...

    XJ radiators, a review.

In my have-no-idea-what-I'm-talking-about opinion, it looks like they used the core of a gas-to-gas heat exchanger, HVAC Condensor, etc. The "fin spacing" on those turbulators looks entire too small for regular 'ol coolant in a ~30 yr old iron block engine. Looks like a clog waiting to...

    4 hole injectors

Seeing as you have a 95, tuning the engine is limited to adjusting fuel pressure, adjusting input voltage to the MAP sensor to make the computer think the engine is working harder than it is or by changing fuel injectors to a higher flow rate. Unless you update to a 96 ECM, or some aftermarket...

    4.0 Tuning question.

Required? No. Worthwhile from a cost perspective? Only you can determine that based on your budget, but with the fairly recently released ability of the HP Tuners MPVI2 to tune the 96+ Jeep 4.0, I believe the "math" behind custom tuning has completely changed. Previously, only a...

Have I found out the hard way that you can't swap a '99 TC into a '97?

    Big brake kit

Wilwood sells multiple kits and there are a few DIY combinations for the the pre-1990 knuckles. They have a bolt-on bracket to hold the caliper and pads while the later-model knuckles integrated it all into one casting. If you happen across a set of OEM early-model hubs with a big nut on the...

1995 XJ 2 door Carpet or full Mat

Google is indicating the carpet is the same between 2dr and 4dr, or at least close enough. "I replaced my carpet in my 2 door, and there's no difference between 2 and 4 door carpet." "They are the same between the two different door models. I have a carpet from my old 2 door in my 4 door at...

Yes, it is a zinc plating of some sorts. You will have a hard time welding through it.

    Engine Swap Options

Sorry splitz, been busy either enjoying it or prepping to enjoy it... Home for a day and then back out for another week :-) In one word, "stability". At 3.5"-4", who knows anymore, and no attempt to fix the steering other than to center the axle with an adjustable track bar, it drives like...

    242 w/ sye or 231w/ sye

What is your intended usage for your XJ? Do you get snow where you live? If your primary usage is offroading, get a 231. It's physically smaller, cheaper to upgrade and has more aftermarket accessories, such as skid plates, available on the market. On the flip side, the NP242 is a great...
