Starboard M, I like the fab work you put into that bumper.
A question though, why did you add the standoff to the steering box? It looks like its 1/2"+ further from the frame than it came from the factory. I'd think that this would put more torsion on the frame.
I know its not a full frame...
X3 Duratracs.
Great on snow and ice, great in mud and slick trails.
Only other consideration for me would be the Cooper ST Maxx, but snow and ice traction is my top concern.
Fortunately I caught em early and the jeep rarely leaves pavement so I've got time to decide how I'm going to plate/stiffen.
I've seen a few XJs on pirate where they cut the lip off and plate all 3 sides of the rail, I'm thinking about doing something similar. Really wish I had a plasma though
I hear you, I was just trying to see if anyone has used channel on the front or if there was a new plate system I hadn't seen.
I was looking at the HD ones but I will check out JKS's system aswell. I'd prefer to box up the frame horns.
I'll grind out and weld the cracks up for the moment...
Personally I wouldn't lift it any more, just trim up what I needed.
But you could get by with shackles in the rear depending on the height you want and new coils up front. Then throw in some nice shocks.
Well it finally happened to me, my frame has two cracks at the drivers sway bar mount.
I have ruffstuff mids that I need to weld on, and I've been looking at the offerings for front stiffies but:
Is there any reason I can't get some 3x3x3 channel and plate from the front bumper to where the...
My Reman steering box failed and I replaced it with another reman.
Now to steer it takes alot more force to turn the wheel, minute steering adjustments take alot of force and there seems to be alot of resistance.
The system was bled by turning the wheel left and right.
I also topped off my PS...
I'm interested and I see that keeps the factory Y setup, price would be about 50$ more than a new complete ZJ TRE. I'd also just shift the weak point over to the drag link. Not sure what to think, so many options out there.
My TRE's are getting pretty worn and I'm looking to replace my steering on the XJ.
First off this is my DD/camping/Expo rig, it mainly sees pavement and I like to hold 75mph on the highway. I don't do rock-crawling, mainly deep snow and rutted trails.
This seems like quite the topic and...
Tires are 31x10.5 duratracs on Canyons. I don't feel it's lacking much power till big hill climbs honestly but I can't wait to do 4.10s or 4.56s.
I thought it was common to get 16+ on 31s which is why I ask.
I'm looking to upgrade the injectors on my XJ, I've been getting pretty poor mileage since I bought it and haven't seen any changes with all the parts I've replaced. (14-15mpg town and highway).
Who's still selling cleaned, rebuilt & tested injectors? I see some old threads on precision but...
I thought I'd update... My vibrations are gone.
I emailed Rugged Ridge asking for a new kit, they told me they had problems with the length yoke I got in my kit and would send me a new shaft and yoke.
Well, I already ordered a JB SYE because I wasn't going to troubleshoot this kit any...

The rear leafs seem to have settled a little with a full tank of fuel in it and driving it for a few miles, I'm going to take out the 8* shims and throw in the 6's.
It seems as though it has...
I put it up on jackstands and I've got a pretty nasty wobble at my CV joint. I removed the shaft and it looks like maybe* my yoke wobbles slightly aswell. But its very hard to tell.

Both the new driveshaft and factory front shaft wobble, everything is...
