    Tie Rod End

If I were you I would send that back and switch over to the ZJ tie rod and end. You get a solid tie rod (XJ is hollow and bends easily), beefier end and uses an adjuster sleeve.

Running out of ideas on overheating

I would verify that temp with an analog gauge for sure, that may put your mind at ease. Pull a few plugs and see of they look lean. See if anyone you know has a wideband o2 sensor you can hook up to check your a/f ratio. Have you verified the timing is correct, maybe pull a few degrees out?

Running out of ideas on overheating

Mine will run 220-225 with AC on in hot temps but it stays there. I noticed mine averages about 5-7 degrees hotter since I installed the winch. You can invest in an a/f data logger or gauge to monitor your a/f readings throughout the day. Does it happen at idle as well or only under load?

Can cruise solenoid cause dash light to not come on?

We have tested resistance on the switches, checked the pins on PCM, vacuum, brake switch etc. I make frequent 3-4 hour drives in this Jeep and doing it without cruise kind of sucks. Where does the dash light receive its signal from to illuminate...the PCM?

Can cruise solenoid cause dash light to not come on?

Two of us have went through all the typical troubleshooting to try and figure out why my cruise stopped working unexpectedly. Is it possible that the dash light will not come on if the servo is malfunctioning? Is there a test to test the servo? Thanks, its a 2000XJ

popping noise from driver side floorboard

I had a very similar issue until I replaced all my stock control arms with adjustable uppers and lowers I made. No more knocking under hard breaking or potholes.

Sick and Tired of breaking stock electric fan shrouds!

Just a follow up here. As someone mentioned I did not have the clips installed on the bottom tabs. This must have led to the excessive vibration and failure. I have been picking fan shroud pieces out of every crevasse in my engine bay. Installed a new fan with new clips and everything works well.

just got black magic brakes + new booster/MC and... no change?!?!

Brake those pads and rotors in correctly and they have more than adequate stopping power. If they changed the booster did they get the shaft length correct?

Turned AC on and temp spiked within 4 minutes!

Yes driving at 65mph and it didn't creep up it went up in a hurry. New water pump, thermostat. Not sure of condenser and radiator, they could be originals. Its just strange it happened so quickly. I did just add a bull bar to bumper and I have noticed a rise of about 7 degrees since then during...

Sick and Tired of breaking stock electric fan shrouds!

I have the fan tabs inserted into the slots and the two bolts at the top secured. Do you have a pic of these "clips"? Maybe I am missing something.

Turned AC on and temp spiked within 4 minutes!

Yes, electric fan does turn on. I didn't get a chance to put a thermometer in the vent.

Turned AC on and temp spiked within 4 minutes!

Driving down the interstate and a 80 degree day so I flipped the AC on. AC is putting out cool air and then a couple minutes later my check gauges light comes on and my Temp is near 240 degrees. I flip the AC off and the temp drops fairly rapidly back to normal 210-215 degrees. The AC compressor...

Sick and Tired of breaking stock electric fan shrouds!

Obviously the stock plastic fan shrouds are not meant for any abuse, I have gone through two of them because the shroud breaks at the mounting points. This causes an imbalance and the destruction begins. So my question is. Is their a better quality fan replacement for my 2000 XJ that actually...

To powder coat wheels or not

I had my stock wheels powder coated satin black. I always powder coat what I can. Far more durable that paint and pretty much eliminates rust when prepped properly.

Front upper control arm bushing width- frame side?

I'm having trouble finding a spec for the width of the upper control arm bushing on the frame end. So far I have seen 2.00" and 2.32" listed. Making my own adjustable arms and my jeep is not available right now to measure. It's a 2000 XJ...thanks.
