Sounds good.
Oh. I have a 2001 btw.
Looks like I have some rotors and pads to order...
Thanks fellas. Ill keep u posted on whether this goes over well...
Title says it all, I think.
I want to do the install but not too sure about the bleeding part especially doing it correctly...
Plus, dont want to be ending up at a shop paying an additional $100 diagnostic fee etc for my screw up....
Thx
JS
Ha ha ha. I dont know I guess 270 just sounded way way better than the 470 they first quoted.
Johnny...nice try bro! Whats your warranty on that??...ha ha. Maybe we can work something out....I live in Aliso Viejo...
Ive done a lot of work on the jeep(lots of suspension work) and had some...
I rec'd this coupon from the dealer that knocks down the price of new rotors/pads and labor by about $200...I about fell outta my chair and said see you soon...to the service guy right when I called.
Thinking it was too good to be true, I called another dealer and they said that the Value Line...
TB cleaned and new battery yet still same low idle and minor 'shakes' usually right after startup but it can still be felt to a lesser extent at stoplights....
What else could it be?
TB cleaned.
New plugs last year.
New battery last week
What about fuel injectors?
thx
JS
Recently the xj died on me likely b/c of zero battery left BUT Ive been also having rough idle...but it is always low. it never really revs high when it acts weird.
Can a dirty tb cause rough low idle?
Also, I took it in for a check b/c the thing was azcting quirky and tyhey said that the #2...
Alright, so Im going to check the drums and shoes for abnormal patterns compared to a new one right out of the box. If there are any signs of abnormality... they will replace.
I know you guys mentioned other things that may be messed up. What should I look for...leaking cylinders...what else...
Thats just grrrreeeaat.
Does anyone have any photos of 'ruined' rear brakes to the likes of what Dave in Eugene mentioned?
So, when I go in there I will be able to make an educated decision....
Thanks fellas!
I dont have a place to work on it this weekend so Im going to swing by the shop since they say it only takes a few minutes once its off the ground.
Until then I'll be inhaling asbestos...
JS
The shop really said that they 'purposefully' overadjusted them and rec'd that I drive them 50-100 miles and they will be fine.
So whats their deal...I'm susposed to wear it down so everything is even?
It definitely feels tight as it doesnt roll as well in neutral...
Yep, I was having some squealing coming from the rear and took it in to midas. The re-adjusted and now I smell nasty brake smell after a 20 mile drive.
I called them and they said that they purposefully overcorrected.
Is this normal??
Thx
Jackass dealer said champions. But would not give a part #. Said he didnt want to do the work for someone else. Can u believe that comment. He also said there was only one kind of champion plug...
Casm, what about the NGK's? Id like to replace with exactly whats in there w/o having to peek in...
I have heard autolite, NGK, champion...? I have a 2001, I am unsure about why some cose $8 while others 2.50.
What brand are the stockers?
Oh and part # would be nice! Thanks JS
Sounds pretty simple afterall.
Regarding troubleshooting:
What should I expect?
What sort of plugs should I get?
Thanks.
If this doesnt pan out, and the thing wont start after jimmying with it...I'll be the guy at the M&G with the XJ on a flatbed getting towed. So have the red carpet...
Marina Del Rey/Mar Vista. 90292. That would be great if you could swing by. There is no immediate rush, but like I said that would be really great. Later Jeremy
I know it sounds so simple. Maybe Ill reconsider, especially if someone nearby comes to help...Thanks JS
Also, I usually change the oil etc do minor things. I also have changed out the suspension by my self.
I was going to try to do it myself but thought better of it an want to leave it to the pro's/
Any advice?
Also, I think the dealer may have said in the past that it was like 100$. Which I thought was crazy. tHanks JS
