Did you happen to the wires out of order on the distrbutor? Also check for any vacuum lines that may have gotten bumped loose.

What axle? I would assume you're talking about pinion preload shims?

The only 3.90's I've ever seen for XJ were for the 8.25. 3.73's and 4.10's are everywhere though.

Check your lifter preload first. It may have been altered due to differences in the roller setup from stock rockers. Are you running them on a stock cam?

I was actually thinking backwards! Oops. The HO head will bolt on to the renix block. HO heads have raised intake ports so you'll have to use a 91+ intake manifold. Dunno about the rest.

Try swapping gears out before building a new motor! It'll help alot! And cost less $$$. Then build the motor later.

I've had much better luck with keeping diff covers sealed up using RTV and no gasket. Also when you replaced the pinion seal did you tighten the pinion nut to proper spec/preload?
