Filling up Manual Tranny and Tcase levels.

Can we provide a quick thread summary? I have a '98, with an AX-15 and the 231 AX-15: MT90 or synchomesh, 4 quarts? Can you run down that fill-it-thru-the-shifter method for me, or point me to a thread that does? 231: I thought I read here synthetic 10-30 was fine for it, but from what I'm...

My XJ adventures with the RTT

Finally got to replacing the pass side wheel bearing with a new timken unit, damn it was getting loud! Results are amazing! Nothing like a smooth, grind-free ride. Karma was on my side, every bolt came out without fuss and the unit bearing came free with a few whacks, no heat :flame: needed...

Guys This trial came up on wrangler forum I went and checked it out this week, it's a nice little run. Anyone been on it before? Any background on it? If not it's worth checking out. Based on public GIS databases with parcel ownership info, I came up with: New England Power Co owns the first...

Rustys Steering Box Brace - NIB Paid $59+ shipping, asking $50 OBO I took this out, bolted into my XJ and it didn't fit. It was ~ 1" too short to really wrap around my box. I guess this is a common thing, some guys modify it to fit, every XJ's a little different. Couple scratches on it from...

On-board air vs. portable air compressor

So... Viair 400P Regular $199 http://www.quadratec.com/products/92043_000_07.htm or... Viair 400P Automatic?? $259 http://www.quadratec.com/products/92043_0021_07.htm As far as I can tell the only difference is that the Automatic ditches the tire deflater and adds a "gas station style...

    rule out 2000+ when buying?

Besides the head you'll run into the undesirable low-pinion front D30. I think it's definitely worth looking for the 97-99 range first unless you find a cherry 00-01 that you just have to have. Another consideration: 00's and 01's had the "upgraded" 4-O2 sensor exhaust system which is more...
