For anyone interested.... I'll have a PSC HD steering gear box up for sale in the next few days. It's about a year and a half old. Works great, no leaks. It isn't ported for assist. Asking $300 or trade for OTK 1 ton steering. Fits XJ'S and TJ's etc...
Thanks
Most of Elvis is pretty easy... You "can" make it through on open diffs with proper tire placement, but at least one locker is recommended. Elvis at night is always fun!
Up for grabs is a 1999 TJ low pinion Dana 30 housing. It's missing the axle shafts rotors, and one unit bearing. Comes with full steering, track bar, one good unit bearing, 3.73 gears and carrier, diff cover and Rancho steering stabilizer. Looks like sway bar mounts were raised for a high...
He's been able to jump the solenoid on the starter, so that kinda rules out a faulty battery or terminal connection issue ... just saying ... the problem is somewhere along the starter signal circuit.
The wiring for the switch is located along the steering column. Follow the wires to the ignition switch. The wires are heavy gauge and can be tested with a test light or multimeter. Unfortunately intermittent problems are difficult to diagnose. If the problem is occurring at or around the same...
Check voltage at both the switch and the starter. If there's power at the switch and not the starter, the one of three things could cause it. 1, there's a break in the stsrter signal lead between the switch and the starter. 2, faulty starter relay. 3, or blow fuse or fusible link. May also be...
double check your ignition switch, make sure you're getting 12 volts on the starter wire. Also if you have an aftermarket alarm, make sure the starter kill relay on it, didn't take a crap. Some systems normally deactivate the starter as a default. I've found this to cause many of no start...
Not sure if this will help, but my IRO hack n tap came with an adapter flange for the output shaft seal, and the inside bore is about 1/16 deeper than the output bearing itself. It's had play since day one with minor vibration. I played with the rear pinion angle and it helped eliminate most...
I'd do the tires first! 33's if it's going to be a while before you re-gear, 35's if you're going all in! Also tire size can affect your longevity of the axle shafts. Guess it all depends on how much DD vs wheeling you do. I'm at 31's now on 5.5" lift. getting ready to go Dana 44's and 35's...
