Engine Dying Issues - Uphill and at Elevation

Now my jeep is a 1994 so my ECU not nearly as complicated. I had very similar issues but I never got a code for my MAP sensor (even though OBD1 I still should have) I was just throwing parts at it left and right. Got so tired of it even took it to a shop. They guessed crank sensor. Still...

    when brake line extensions needed?

Shocks are the N2.0 rough country 2-4 inch lift ones. And yes I have been doing wheeling for years ( since 2007! lol ) with it still connected. In NJ most times am just in sand pits and hasn't been terrible but its becoming annoying on bumpy trails with it still connected lol.

    when brake line extensions needed?

When are brake line extensions needed on the XJ? I ask as I have a 3 inch lift with 31s. So far for years they have been fine. But I am thinking of putting the front sway bar quick disconnects on for more flex. With a 3 inch lift and front sway bar disconnects will brake line extensions be...

1994, how to tell ECM number?

I have a 1994 XJ with 4.0L 4wd automatic 4spd. Am pretty sure my ECM is bad. I pulled it and I am having a hard time knowing which one I have to order one. I can get a new Chrysler one on a black Friday special for under 300 dollars. These are the part numbers show both for 4.0L and are R6027888...

    sensor connector replacements

I have a 1994 XJ 4.0L with 181k miles on it and am running into a lot of electrical issues lately. Most if it comes down to corrosion in the wiring harness connectors. I have found MAP sensor connectors and a few other connectors new. But having issues finding like the fuel injector connectors...

    full battery, everything dead

It did turn out to be the alternator. It is odd, unless something in the harness got disturbed and its working now (hopefully not the case). But I bought a new alternator and jeep fired right up, guess old one had a short in it? Its holding at 14V on the gauge. Last time a few years ago I got a...

    full battery, everything dead

Thanks guys for every ones ideas, So I now had a starting point with every ones suggestions. I believe its the alternator as I took off the alternator plug (4 bolts) and it started right up then. Put the harnesses back on, its dead and wont start. So I am not double guessing myself, my...

    full battery, everything dead

I have a 1994 XJ with 180K miles 4.0L automatic. I am stumped on this one. Battery has 12V (confirmed from mulimeter) and all the lights are on the jeep when doors are open. 80 percent of the time put the key in the ignition and turn it forward and nothing. No gauges, no radio, no start. The...

    Coolant temperture question

My jeep gauge says I have been running 210-220 last few months. In 6 years of owning it, never ran that hot since I installed a 2 row radiator. Now I have replaced most everything with OEM dealership parts, hoses, thermostat, radiator cap, and have a high flow Hesco thermostat housing. Even...

Ford 19 lbs fuel pressure question

I may have made a mistake a few years ago, I put on Ford 19 lbs 4 point fuel injectors on my 1994 4.0L. I have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. I was told by my friend they are 49 PSI injectors. So years ago I set my adjustable fuel pressure regulator to 49 PSI. After a few years of having...

MAP sensor question/ which to get

I have tested my MAP sensor and it is bad. I have to get a new one. Is MAP sensor one of those sensors need to buy Chrysler/Mopar replacement or is it ok to get the cheaper aftermarket from advance auto? Like I know the engine temp sensor that is in the thermostat doesn't not work well with...

94 XJ stalls when cold, I have changed parts.

Thank you guys! I never associated the IAC on the TB as it controls the idle, I always thought the TB position sensor did that and thought the IAC was part of the cruise control system lol . I will play with it and clean it later on, thanks again!

94 XJ stalls when cold, I have changed parts.

Tonight out of random luck a new symptom which it has never done before. In idle, if you just tap the gas idle jumps from 800 rpms to like 1500 for like 3-5 seconds then goes back down to 800.
