1991 Jeep Cherokee 4x4
230k miles
Overview: This would make a good trail vehicle or winter beater. It has been very reliable for me.
The good:
brakes/drivetrain/shocks all seem good (haven't had any problems with them)
Comes with two sets of tires, one set of streets on American Racing rims...
I just brought some tires in to get mounted on new wheels, told them to mount 'em with the white lettering IN so I wouldn't have to see it.... and when I went to pick them up, they'd done it with the white out. So I had to leave them for the night to be corrected, and pick up tomorrow morning...
I'm going to be getting a locker for my jeep sometime fairly soon.
91 with 30 front 35 rear.
My question is, since I'm doing only one axle, which would be the more useful one? This is not a DD, so I'm not concerned with onroad performance/noise.
I was thinking rear, if for no other reason...
So, being a relative noob... just wondering where around here there ARE good trails..
There seems to be a distinct lack of 4x4 trails in the western MA area.
Anyone care to shed light?
Thanks!
Looking to buy a set of 4 tires, and a set of 4 wheels.
Wheels I'll take anything in good condition, as long as it has a stock 5.25"offset.
Tires, I'd like something that'll be good offroad in a close - to -stock size, preferably 215s.
Thanks!
Jeep is a stock 91 Laredo.
It's been serving me well, even though the person I bought it from foolishly put 255 70R15's on it with stock suspension, so they rub a bit.
In any event, I need to get new wheels so that they'll tuck under the fenders in the front and I can pass inspection... and...
Looking for a stock set of XJ leaf springs.... preferably with little sag to them.
if you've got some that are of no use to you anymore... let me know!
Thanks!
