From what I've heard, the Rubicon Express springs start out at that height but will settle to around 4". A good friend of mine had those springs in his 2 door. I am running their 6.5" spring and would continue buying their products. They seem to be perfect for me.
Re: Re: WJ steering pump on XJ - whining.
I think it is 1/2". BUT, I didn't want to buy a new reservoir, so I made it work with a 3/8 fitting. Seems to be perfect since its now the same size coming from the steering box. Maybe going from 3/8 to 1/2 causes a little cavitation?
I'm sure it whines more in cold weather. That's kinda why I haven't drilled my fitting any bigger either. I'm happy with the assist it gives me for now. I think I'll wait until you find a solution lol.
Have you tried getting a universal barbed fitting and running that off the box? The guy I...
Well. I worked at a GM dealer for a while and we had a hell of a time bleeding the power steering on the traverse/acadia/enclave vehicles. Simply turning the wheel back and forth a thousand times with the engine off didn't work.
The best method I found to bleed the system was to use a...
What fluid are you running? I'm using mostly Dex 6 atf and although it was a pain to bleed, I think I've eliminated pump whine. This is with the fitting drilled to 7/32.
You can use a Viair 92791 stainless hose off the back of the compressor as well. It also has a built in check valve. I found out about this from googling oba setups a while back. Should run about 30 bucks on Amazon. A Viair 90100 switch that turns on at 90 and off at 125 psi seems to be the...
Re: Re: 8.25 questions
Yes. I can unbolt the lock pin and flip the carrier over and slide the cross shaft out between two of the teeth on the ring gear.
The best way to go about it would be to mount the ring gear to the carrier with a couple bolts, then try to slide the cross pin in. If it...
There is a way. I have to rotate my carrier 180 and the pin very carefully slides out without touching the ring gear. I'd mount the ring gear to the carrier a couple times to find the perfect spot for it to be set so you dont have to notch a tooth.
Well that's just it. There is WAY too much misinformation for these swaps, or nobody has really done them and talked about it. I
'm also on 35s and locked front and rear, but I think for now I'll just be happy with the extra assist the pump provides and keep a lookout for a Durango box. My tire...
I was actually wondering if anybody had first hand experience on the Durango box and WJ pump combo as well.
Wouldn't you think it would be severely noticeable if you bent the frame so bad the steering went 90° off?
I just put a WJ pump in this weekend and used the lower return line and did not drill the fitting. The guy I got the pump from broke the fitting off actually so I've had to drill it out and install my own fitting. Besides that, it works great. I'd also say the steering isn't 1 finger light, but...
I absolutely loved the nice low rumble the Iron Rock Offroad catback system had in my 00 2-door. I loved it so much in fact that I'm going to ditch the flowmaster 40 that I have on my 93 that I dont really care for. I didnt notice any horrible drone, and I drove that XJ from Virginia Beach to...
I personally dont think the cost of the Mopar performance cam is really worth the price of it, in relation to power gained. I think you are looking at building an engine or stroker, that would be a better time to do a cam upgrade.
I am personally rebuilding a 4.0, but I plan on stroking it to...
