If that was in response to my post, i was talkin about that happenin when only rear wheels are spinnin, for instance when climbing something...

have someone look at the driveshaft while this happens, if it doesn't spin, that's the same problem i have... i replaced the chain on the 242 and it didn't help at all

How bad is that axle wrap exactly??

From what i've heard and experienced, the 101" wheel base on the xj is ideal... All flipping the springs would do is extend the wheel base... Would it be better to have even longer?

im gonna have to say the s-10 blazer cause it was pretty small...

It's blazer springs, all under xj main minus the overload. Equals about 4.5-5" and flexes great. I'm real happy with this

Here are some poser shots from the maden voyage after the pack rebuild. I'm lovin the rear flex now, I couldn't even get a rear tire off the ground, no matter how hard i tried!!... O yea, I made it up that trench if you were wonderin[:D]

the back ones aren't "clamped"... i put those straps on only to keep them from moving lateraly, i thought that would be good to be able to unload, but do you really think that strapping the front will prevent this or is this more of a job for somethin like a traction bar?

So, i finished my pack today... does pretty good, but for some reason, the front of the pack unloads and bends my main leaf... why is this??

my votes the unit bearing... my '91 did this and that's what it was... jack up the front axle and see if you can move the wheel around. if so, bad bearing

It mostly works when in full time 4 wheel drive...

If the linkage is what causes the problem, will the gears grind the second i put the transmission in gear?

I did it myself with wally world switches... It was fairly easy and this is before i knew much about wiring
