    SWEET commanche for sale

 The grille had me scratching my head too. If it was a longbed, I'd think maybe it was some kind of pre-production race Jeep that got passed down to a privateer later on (this stuff actually happens with race cars/trucks/bikes all the time). Then, it's even possible they shortened the...

    SWEET commanche for sale

I posted that based on: There weren't any 85' Comanche's (production started in 85 for the 86 model year), and all the 86's were longbeds (this one is a shortbed). The bed could've been swapped (& wheelbase shortened), but it can't be an 85 unless he's going by the date on the door (early...

How stupid are we, Americans? Time to clean the House and Senate

I didn't read this whole thread, so I don't know if it was mentioned, but the establishment of Massachusetts already stated that swearing in of the winning candidate could take up to a month, or more (well after Healthcare is slated for it's final vote). Of course the winner of the last...

    Jeep 2500 Conversion Order #3

If this is still a go, I would be in for 'something'. Still looks like there's kinks to work out of the plan, but at the very least I'd be in for a set of mirrors, most likely more once there's a better idea of total price (+ shipping to Boston). Either way, add me to the list please. :D...

    What is better than RE???

Kinda long, but here's what worked, and didn't work for me: RE 1345 coils (5.5"XJ/4.5"ZJ) bought these in 1999, wheeled them for 5-6 solid years, in 2 different MJ's. MIGHT have sagged 3/8" over max original ht (hard to say, since vehicles & weights have changed alot). Spring rate (for me)...

pros and cons of AX-15 vs 3550 in a renix

I'm running an (XJ) NV3550 behind a 92 HO 4.0L, using a Renix control system. The Renix flywheel works fine with the NV3550's starter location, and the CPS location. The Renix vs HO sensor cutouts on the flywheel are totally different, but as long as you use the correct one for the engine...

    Dana 30 Tech

If guys are loosing their hubs like this, the press fit of the hub assemblies alone must not be enough to retain the wheel. I didn't realise that. Seems strange to me, since it is a very tight press (atleast when you try to take them apart). BTW, I checked the FSM's for when 2wd's changed...

    Dana 30 Tech

Nice article Crash  From the first post: D30 R&P is 7.2" (I think it really measures closer to 7.125"). Dana does call this front axle 'semi-floating', but the axles don't carry the weight (even though that's what SF means), or hold the bearings in. 1990+ 2wd XJ/ZJ/MJ's actually...

    what's the best clutch?

Make sure you don't end up with a pressure plate with LESS pressure than stock. When I replaced the clutch on my old XJ (about 10 years ago), I got what I thought was a replacement clutch/disc/throwout at a local clutch shop. Everything fit great, and it functioned fine, but the pedal pressure...

    Patches or new floor pan?

Both sides of my MJ's floor were completely gone. I cut the floors out of a newer XJ, but didn't cut enough for the passengers side. So I patched the DS with the factory XJ floor, and the PS with 3 strips of sheetmetal. One strip from the 'framerail' to the center hump. One strip from the...

    Ebay/Laptop problem

I'm glad things look like they'll work out. Giving you an aux battery is a good compromise. BTW, Pay Pal is great, until there's a problem. Long long story short: I got taken for $120 on Ebay It was a legit Ebay deal, the guy had good feedback, and I filed a complaint with Ebay & PP...

    2WD Wrangler

Most of the CJ-10's built for domestic use were airplane tuggers, but CJ-10's were built in many other configurations too. CJ-10's are more adaptable than the rest of the line (because of the removable bed), but they are still CJ's.

    2WD Wrangler

AFAIK, there was never a 2wd YJ, or TJ. Atleast not for US use. There's atleast one 2wd CJ I can think of (in addition to the 2wd DJ series).

Buying a welder out of state?

I bought the same welder out of state, off Ebay a few years ago, and was very happy with the purchase. I got prices locally, but they weren't even close. If the difference was only $50, no question, I would've bought locally.

    Gettin aftermarket wheels...backspacing?

3.75" 15x7's will move the tire out nicely, clearing the LCA's, and giving you a wider stance. 31x10.5's should be close to flush with the edge of the flare (my DD's 32x11.5" ft tires stick out a little, and the rears are nearly flush on the same wheels). If you're even planning on...

    tire sizes & capability

What tires? My old 33x12.5" bias TSL's were heavier, tougher on the axles, and almost as tall as most radial MT 35's. 33x15.5" SX's are axle killers, but much taller Q/78 TSL's (35.5x11") are less stressful. Width and weight can kill axles, brakes, MPG & steering effectiveness, even whan it...

boss wants me to ge rid of tom woods sticker

Honestly, the guy's probably already made up his mind about you since you didn't agree to remove the sticker immediately. I bet you get the 'your not a team player' speech when he finds a new lapdog. Don't mention it again, and strategically place a CENSORED decal the "woody" part. That'll...
