Hey Breezio, I just installed that setup this past weekend. Works great (with a few mods). I had to go UTK because a 1.5" tie rod is just big. Used a Rusty's over-the-axle track bar relocation bracket and cutoff the sway bar mounts. BARELY fits but swings both ways without hitting anything...

Chrysler 8.25 axle off of a 95 XJ. 27 spline, open rear end, 3.55 gears. Comes with spare axle shaft. $50. Located in Corona.

Thanks for all the advice. This definitely sounds like a solid mod with little to no negatives about it. I'm feeling comfortable with the upgrade and now I know I'm not looking at any "surprise" costs based on what everybody is saying. Thanks again!

I'm not sure what yokes will be on the one I decide to actually buy. I'm prepared to replace them (or just the front if I have to). I can get them from Tom Woods. I just wanted to make sure that I didn't start this project and then realize - "Oh, I need another $1,000 to make this work".

Opinions? Is this the best bang for the buck on a beer budget? Maybe a Tera Low? It's an off road rig only, and I'm looking for the cheapest (but not the worst) way to go.

Looking for some lower gears for my 95 XJ. Currently has the NP231. I have cash and will come and get it.

What about a mini spool? Can that be installed in this setup? Would it even work with the existing carrier?
