Hey Breezio,
I just installed that setup this past weekend. Works great (with a few mods). I had to go UTK because a 1.5" tie rod is just big. Used a Rusty's over-the-axle track bar relocation bracket and cutoff the sway bar mounts. BARELY fits but swings both ways without hitting anything...
I've got a picture of the complete axle, but i can't seem to get it to post. I can email it to anyone who is interested. Hopefully a picture is visible here -
Thanks for all the advice. This definitely sounds like a solid mod with little to no negatives about it. I'm feeling comfortable with the upgrade and now I know I'm not looking at any "surprise" costs based on what everybody is saying. Thanks again!
I'm not sure what yokes will be on the one I decide to actually buy. I'm prepared to replace them (or just the front if I have to). I can get them from Tom Woods. I just wanted to make sure that I didn't start this project and then realize - "Oh, I need another $1,000 to make this work".
I did my due diligence and searched and searched. I learned quite a bit from it. I can find bits of information in different posts - some of which are conflicting. Most are info about somebody else's specific application. I posted this thread to consolodate information for my situation and...
It looks like I'm leaning this way. I think I can get the 4:1 the way I want for the least amount of upgrade money. I currently have a stock 231 with AA SYE and Tom Woods rear drive shaft. A couple of questions to those who know-
1. Can I keep my existing rear drive shaft or is the length...
I'd be interested in more info on the Atlas your friend has for sale.
Also, does anyone know if I need to change drive shafts whichever route I go? I currently have a stock NP231 with AA SYE and Tom Woods rear drive shaft. Can I use my existing rear drive shaft with the 241OR? Same length...
Thanks for the info! I'm finding that the more I search the better the deals get. I'm just hoping maybe with a bit more searching and some luck timing, maybe I can find a good deal on an Atlas. That's what I'd really like to have and I'm willing to pay a little more for it, but its seems to be...
Opinions? Is this the best bang for the buck on a beer budget? Maybe a Tera Low? It's an off road rig only, and I'm looking for the cheapest (but not the worst) way to go.
