Try unplugging and then re-plugging the plugs in the back of the instrument cluster. Also check that ground cable on the firewall (under the hood) near the driver's side windshield wiper arm for corrosion and/or looseness.

Before totally freaking, check w/mechanical gauge or at least change out the oil sender (AKA oil switch) as they go bad frequently. :patriot:

It is.
The fuse needs to be the weakest link of the circuit so it will blow/open during an overload.
If the fuse is a 10 amp, then your switch needs to be rated above 10 amps.

Check the amp rating on the fuse that protects the pump and there's your answer! You don't want the switch to be rated under the fuse's amperage rating. Sorry I can't be more exact. :dunno:
