    Heater control valve leaking

If you eliminate it what is the effect? Your heater will still work right? Just constantly has coolant flowing through it? Any bad things come from removing it?

    XJ is stuck/Won't Start

Deffinetely sounds like the fuel pump. Take off the intake on top of the throttle body and spray some starting fluid in it and see what happens. If it starts then you know it's not getting fuel. I heard on the newer jeeps you have to drop the tanks to get the fuel pump. On my renix its on the...

    Blown head gasket?

Correct this is the middle one the one with the rubber plug was the last one. It didn't look like any had been changed beside the last one but I'm starting to second guess that now. I'm just kinda stuck trying to figure out what to do now. I'm going to go back to car quest tomorrow and hopefully...

    Blown head gasket?

That's what I thought. My dad thinks it might have been bored out, but why would you bore that out it's not going to improve anything.

    Blown head gasket?

Yeah I actually bought that cap. Then while I was doing the work to replace the plugs I decided to convert to the newer setup ha so never got a chance to use it. My uncle has a 89 as well so I'll probably just give it to him. Does anyone know the size of the freeze plug in the middle on the side...

    Blown head gasket?

Well I have another jeep. Same year same engine same trans identical just don't have the title. My plan is to pull that motor which already has 50,000 miles less and slowly over time rebuild it with top quality parts. Then drop it in. For now I just wanted to get this one running good for a dd...

    Blown head gasket?

Ok thanks. I wanted to change them all but then I was like well maybe I shouldn't. But I'm definitely going to. I dont have a cherry picker for the two in the rear of the engine. And kinda don't feel like dropping the trans :/ I'm lazy and run out of beer to quickly. I'm sure of it that the rear...

    Blown head gasket?

Hey guys, took off the intake and exhaust manifold yesterday. Found that someone previously replaced the rear freeze plug with a rubber piece of junk one. And also that the second one was leaking just minor. I'm stuck trying to decide whether I should replace all five of them on the side or not...

    Blown head gasket?

Oh ok thanks. I was under the impression they popped or broke when they froze to prevent internal damage. Well I can rent a pressure tester from autozone. Do I fill up the system with water and the pressurize it and find the leak? The only thing I'm concerned about is wherever it's leaking I...

    Blown head gasket?

Should I assume it's the freeze/welsh plugs or try and find something else. The reason I think so is the guy before never added coolant he just added water when it was low. I have since added some 50/50 mix but never got around to flushing the whole system and filling it with the proper mix. So...

    Blown head gasket?

Compression test is a good idea. Havnt thought about that. Would that tell me if the head gasket is bad? I am able to preform most of the repairs on the engine myself so that's not a concern. I would like to get all new cooling system parts, radiator, water pump, thermostat, fan clutch, etc...

    Blown head gasket?

Yeah its toward the rear of the engine. Somewhere above the oilpan. My dad seems to think maybe the freeze plugs. It got into the 20s or so last night. I'm stuck in deciding what to do. The engine overheats it has oil on the air filter. Just numerous problems. I was looking at reman engines and...

    Blown head gasket?

I hate to keep posting, I've searched and found alot on the subject nothing similar to my problems though. Whenever I park I'm leaking what seems to be coolant. This morning there was a huge puddle and all my coolant is gone. It's coming from near the oil pan but it seems like it's something...

New transmission? Or just a seal?

It normally leaks like 4 or 5 drops then stops. This morning I came out and it was substantially more so I'm not sure what happened. Lately I've been hearing gear noises as I slow down to, so I changed both my diff fluids and my t case and it's still there but only sometimes. How hard is it to...

New transmission? Or just a seal?

Ok yeah I've seen those write-ups before. Mainly I was just concerned about the inspection plate, what it was and if it was a big deal or not. Thanks.

New transmission? Or just a seal?

I'm not 100% sure but it's deffinitely not engine oil. Should I be worried about the inspection plate? Is it something I could do myself or just take it to a shop? I should probably replace those seals while I'm at it?

New transmission? Or just a seal?

Anybody?? My dad took a look at it and seems to think its the inspection plate. Should fluid be coming out of there?

New transmission? Or just a seal?

Since I got the jeep a few months back it has been leaking a little bit of tranny fluid. This morning I came out and it was everywhere. Got underneath and this is what I found. I'm not sure exactly how this happened or what happened but I don't want to drive it anymore. Is this part of the...

What the hell is this? GPS tracker?!?!

Couldve been some sort of an alarm system that the previous owner had installed.

    Removing pinion shaft yoke

Well after attempting for about a hour in the rain I got sick of it. I just couldn't get enough room to get the proper amount of leverage. And then after getting the one off I would have to get the other one off the part jeep. So I just took it into a local driveline shop and they charged me $50...
