Up for sale is a new Rusty's skid plate that is designed to protect both the trans and engine. It is new but scratched up from being moved around my garage etc. I want $60 firm because I paid $100 last yr and sold my XJ. Comes with the plate and mounting bracket. Install instructions are on the...
For sale is my trusty 1999 Jeep Cherokee XJ. I am selling it because I bought a new car and simply don't have a need for it. Truck has never left me stranded or failed to start and I have owned it for 4 yrs now since I bought it from the original owner. Clean title with 156k on it, I will list...
Have not really tried anything in 1-2. I am going to follow the various write ups on how to pop off the linkage and adjust it and go from there. I am dubious if that will clear up the check engine light , but it makes technical sense that I move something out of adjustment when I was trying to...
I believe I had the jeep in neutral and when I clamped the vicegrip onto the collar that fused it self to the shaft. Tried my hardest to get it off and it turned to either drive or reverse, which ever way I was twisting.
The best way to figure this one out is to pop off the linkage on the...
Ya I have been reading that.... I will admit, a few times I clamped down one the rod that the NSS slides on and physically took it out of gear. Do we think that could have taken it out of adjustment, or did I break the parking pawl?
Ya I mean I left the two cables directly on top of one another for the ecu to clear. Upon start up, the CEL wasnt present, yet came on 10 seconds later. The thing I am super stumped about is why my Jeep still rolls freely in Park gear. Like I mentioned it wont start in Neutral either, yet it...
hey guys im working on a 1999 xj AW4
I bought an ebay brand new in box NSS and went to work extracting the old one. Well it broke and to get by for a few days we bypassed the NSS by jumping the wires on the stock OEM harness NSS side , not the Jeep's engine harness side obviously. Now the...
Hey guys,
Doing a lot of commuting in my XJ this summer and I need to change up my wheel configuration. I am looking to trade my 70% + 285/75/16's on BRAND new rims (33.2's) for a set of good to great treaded 31's. I paid a good amount for these wheels last spring, but the size and the fact...
after popping the 15 amp I.O.D fuse a handful more times, I finally have it traced down to the interior dome/cargo light, OR a slightly corroded circuit board on my keyless entry that was up in the dome.... Day three and I have not popped a fuse since (knock on wood) and was VERY snowy here in...
Ok guys here is what went down. Buddy and I went thoroughly through testing all the culprits, ohms tests from both the PDC and the junction box, etc. Pulled the problem fuses out of the junction box, numbers 6,9,16,17 and put a fresh 15 amp back in the I.O.D spot in the PDC. Success. It finally...
warming up the garage for this now... ya everytime I put a new 15 amp fuse in the number 17 spot ( Ignition off draw) it pops it. Something is grounding out or pinched
Can anyone just give me one pointer..... Since I lost the above mentioned accessories( keyless entry, radio, gauge function, interior lights) Should I start testing those first and go from there or can the tripping of that number 17 fuse, the I.O.D really be ANYTHING electrical in the jeep...
Drove to work today in my 99' and all was well. Got nasty thunderstorms with pouring rain but I thought nothing more than a free car wash as the jeep sat.
Jumped in to go home and noticed my interior lights did not go on. Jeep started perfect yet ZERO gauge function, and the radio is black...
Hey guys,
Slapped my new 33's on yesterday and have no need for these 31's. These will get you through winter just fine, but they do have some dry rot and are about 30-40% treaded. I would use these primarily for off road use as a spare set or to get you through one winter season. The tires are...
