Hey everyone! I have a 94 XJ auto that I'm in the process of preparing for a Gen III 5.3l swap. Right now I'm working on cleaning up the Jeep wiring harness.
I'm attempting to keep the Power Distribution Center (PDC) with all the relays and fuses.
My main question right now is for the...
Front wheel bearings are good. Ball joints are good. Tim, you're correct that there is a rhythm to the noise. I believe it's proportional to the speed I'm going as well. Not positive since I don't normally go over un-even terrain at random different speeds. Normally fairly slowly.
The...
I replaced mine several years ago and NAPA wanted about $250 IIRC. I ended up buying a parts jeep for $80 and replaced it with one of those. I'd pay $100 for a new one instead of used just so I don't have to go to the pain of that replacement again. I don't have air-tools or I would assume it...
I know it's been a super long time since I posted this. I figured this deserved a follow up due to the stupid issue that caused it. After knocking my head against the wall for a long time I found out it was ....... a coil wire!!!!
I guess inside the insulation, the wire had snapped. I'm...
Haven't been on NAXJA for quite a while. My Jeep has been down for a few years. Got it back up and running.
My setup:
94 XJ 4.0
NP231
AW4
RE 3.5" Super-Ride
Shimmed rear axle
TC drop about 1"
Stock tires for now
So I don't wheel a lot. Especially lately. I just replaced my rear bushings for...
When my Jeep troubles started, it would have issues staying running when the motor was hot. I'd pull up to a stop sign and it would die. It would hesitate to start. Then it got worse. I was driving down the highway one day and it just stopped running. It'd cool down for a while and I'd be able...
That's what happened to mine a couple years back. Turned out I tatered the tcase chain. Now it's doing it again after a tcase rebuild about 20k miles ago. Mine initially messed up because I had the wheel turned too far when i hit the gas really hard (I was stuck)
I've been having issues off and on with my jeep starting. it's a 94 4.0. It'll turn over but won't start. It'll start if I hold the gas, but as soon as I let off the gas, it will die. If I keep it started by holding the gas for a little, it'll stay running. It's not an alternator issue. Maybe...
Wow. You guys are pretty rough. Trust me. I don't abuse my vehicle. It's the only one I have. I drive it from home to work and back. Everything was cool so far as I was concerned. I let the axle hang before I put the shocks on to make sure they had enough travel. I'm just wondering how the hell...
It was the shock that came with the kit. Nowhere in their specs and info did it say that I would need limiting straps. It had everything else I needed, ie shims and SYE. If they sent me a shock that was too short, then it happened due to their lack of information.
hahah Nice. I didn't know I needed a limiting strap for such a short lift. I mean I don't even rod harder than I did with the stock setup. Hopefully RE will send me a new one.
I haven't been wheeling in quite a while. I went to change my Tcase fluid and I found this! lol. My ride is stock with a RE 3.5" lift. the boot is effed up cuz it was laying on my exhaust.
