haven't been to site in years: What's best angle for 1310 CV driveline?

I haven't been on the board in probably 5 years since I sold my XJ and moved to a 1973 FJ40 that I brought back from the dead. Although I am a Toyota guy now, part of my rig is still jeep. I installed an SM420 with a Dana 18 tranny. Because I have everything tucked above the frame rails (101”...

Wanted 12 or 13" travel shocks

Thanks to Ben, I was given a nice set of 12" travel shocks. They were set up for the front of an XJ so I had to cut off an old set of shock eyes and weld them to the base of the top of the shocks to work with the Cruiser. Worked like a champ and perfect size. Thanks again Ben!

    Blad Mountain

I wouldn't think it would be too dry right now. Probably snow after the last few days of HARD rain for this time of year. Seems like we got as much rain in the last few days as we did all winter. (I am in Lemoore). So I would be prepared for snow and go from there.

Wanted 12 or 13" travel shocks

Fantastic. Where are you? If you have some, I'll stop by and get them from you. Thanks, Dan Edit: Not a big deal if it has the threaded head on it. I can cut off the eyes off my old shocks and yours and weld on what I need so that it works on my rig. So I'll take them.

Wanted 12 or 13" travel shocks

Actually they are for my Land Cruiser (FJ40). Any type of eye to eye shock will work so if I recall, the rear shocks are what I need form an XJ. Not the front ones with the bottom eye and top threaded bolt. But I'll take two of your 12"ers. PM me on how you want to be paid. Shipping will be to...

Wanted 12 or 13" travel shocks

Sorry guys, for some reason I cannot post in the for sale section. I probably do not visit enough. So if you could move this Bryan, feel free. Anyway, anyone have some 12" or 13" travel shocks (eye to eye) laying around? I am working on my suspension on the FJ40 and any old pair will do until...

    Freeze plug replacement?

Thanks guys. Don't know why I was thinking screw when I know dang well they pound in. I am sticking it on a lift today to see if I can get an angle on it. Thanks for the seal suggestion. I'll use it. Just hope I have the room and don't have to pull the manifold. It is my wife's Jeep (wj)...

    Freeze plug replacement?

How hard is it to replace the driver's side freeze plug above the motor mount (4.0)? Isn't it just backing out the old plug and screwing in a new one? What, about a 30 minute job, or is there more than what I am thinking? Thanks.

Santa Cruz is like little tijuana . . .

chill. It was not a hater comment so don't go looking for something unless you have your own agenda. Oh and lets make it perfectly clear. It was a comment based on personal experience. If you choose to use a person's name in a reflection like you did, it becomes a personal discussion. I say...

Santa Cruz is like little tijuana . . .

Hey Bryan. I havd lived all over, Stockton, Fresno, Humboldt county etc. One of my friends lives in Santa Cruz and he called it tortilla flats and after a visit there, I was really disappointed. Trust me, diversity is the game in this part of the valley so it is nothing new to me. The goal...

Santa Cruz is like little tijuana . . .

I know that. I was specifically talking about the board walk. Lots more places to see, but a now almost 4 year old would have loved to ride the rides and take in the tourist part of Santa Cruz. Not anymore. Coles BBQ is still good :)

Santa Cruz is like little tijuana . . .

My point is that itisn't a safe place to be anymore like it was just 10 years ago. Simple as that and I didn't say a mexican heritage cannot be upscale. That is just the population that has made that area a trash zone with high crime and dangerious streets. It could have been anything and I...

42 RE tranny for a 94 grand cherokee

That's what I told her. I was pissed. Another grand and we could have had a good rig, under a 100000 miles, maybe 33s and leather. Oh well. She likes her WJ or what ever the hell it is called.
