I've got a 99 xj and had a 90 laredo. I'm pretty sure the compass is in the roof. My owner's manuals said to keep magnets off the roof because it will mess up the compass in the roof. However, my xm antenna seems not to affect it nor does my temporary cb antenna.

I'd say the patriot has to be a good off road machine. It has lights on the roof! AND fog lamps. If you have that many lights it doesn't matter what engine you have or if you have IFS. It also has an Xterra type roof rack. So, it's got that going for it, which is nice.

I have the same rain-x concentrate. I mix it in a gallon washer fluid jug, and just use that to fill every time. The concentrate will make many jugs. If you already have fluid in there worst case it will be a little diluted but it won't matter. you just don't want it to concentrated...
