    2000 Cherokee Buying and Cracked Head advice

    I've had 7 Jeeps in last 12 years.. still own 2 of em. both Cherokee's. 2001 and 1998... blown head gasket at @ 160k on both... the 0331 head on the 00-01 are more prone to cracking yet I cracked and blew my head gasket on the '98s 0630 head first.... it happens... we all know what JEEP stands...

    hey guys my brakes in the back tested at less than 20% so I'm thinking I need to do that 95/96 MC and then the prop valve... but dunno what to do yet.. can I get some clarification on the swap out especially the prop valve... maybe some pics.. and where it is???

    yes... using the 01 engine with cracked 0331 head. retro fitted everything back to 98. so 98 intake and exhaust manifolds, so i want to just get a new 0630 head I guess...

    I could do the 0630 head but the only difference is the ports are a hair larger on the 7120 and it has a spot for the temperature sending unit... either way is find I guess... but the question still remains for either of them... will they just bolt on and be compatible?

    hey guys I have been looking all day and am going in circles so i'm just gonna ask some advice here.... 6 months ago I blew a head gasket and cracked my heads in my 98 xj I had it pinned and milled new gasket kit and bolts and it still leaked cracked pinned not welded or anything so I swapped...

    There where only 3. The precats on the 01 have 2 and then 1 on the exhaust pipe down further... my 01 didn't have or need one after the third cat so I removed it years ago... the Jeep dealer said the pcm is coded to the VIN so some stuff in the dash are still 98 so its screwing up the computer...

    OK well I did the swap... I used the 2001 engine with the harness from the 01 and the pcm of the 01 and put it all in my 98... I still used the 98 harness from inside the cab to the pcm but used the 01 engine harness everything bolted up and plugged in great but now I'm throwing out o2 sensor...

    okay so I can swap the engines out and convert the 01 to distributor with the parts I have between the two? and that avoids PCM and harness swap? that sounds easier but is it better? or do I want to go through the trouble to get the ignition coil? is it a better system?

    Just FYI I solved the rubbing problem by getting spacers for between the axle shaft and the rotar to move it away from the backing plate... 38 bucks for a set at Teraflex... Let's hope it works.. I'll post pics later if it does...

Something is rubbing bad and I'm not sure if it's due to my alloy shafts I put on instead of my stock shafts or what... The alloy shafts use a bolt like a grade 8 hex head bolt with a lock washer and they stick in so...
