Well the car not moving without giving it 3/4 throttle kind of forced my hand ;)

Calipers - $70
Rotors - $100
Pads - $60
Hoses - $80
So $310 plus tax and shipping not including the $80 core charge for two calipers.
All of those parts are more like $315 to buy good quality not sure about pep boys or the like. For that it is not worth it for $185 saved and all the blood I will shed ;)
Damn, front right caliper seized on the ride to the office. TONS of smoke but the old 4.0 had np pushing though it
Tell me if this is a fair deal from the local shop
Full front brake job both sides

Please inspect and clean rear brakes
$520
It sounds fair to me...
It was not working when I bought the jeep. Following other posts on the site I found the wires were pulled apart in the rubber boot. I soldered the wires together and still no sound.
HERE is the odd part, if I touch the soldered wires to the metal on the door, I get a little spark and then the...
FSM said 80-115ft/lbs. I am going to remove the wheels and sand off some of that rust when it gets a bit warmer. I did the swap yesterday and it was 20*, my hands are still sore.
and in the back the wheel studs are a bit short I thought. Did the 1999 XJs with factory alloys come with longer studs?
I still got at least 9 turns on lug nut and I torqued them to 115 just to be sure.
Anyone else notice this?
Also the hubs were real rusty and I had to use the lugs to...
I have a NP242 in my 99 sport and when in FT 4WD I am getting a very loud pop and binding/tire skidding when making sharp left turns.
I would expect this in PT 4WD but not in FT. The dash is indicating I am in FT 4WD but maybe it is wrong?
I have factory steelies on my XJ and I am planning on buying a set of factory alloys off an XJ that do not come with lugs. Are the lugs from my steel wheels the same and ok to use with the aluminum wheels?
I know sometimes steel wheels use flat as opposed to conical lugs and what not.
The part cost for me is $33 o2 sensor (Walker 250-24078) from amazon plus $17 for the o2 sensor socket set from amazon as well.
I think the sensor on the car is original so it has 10 years and 160k of rust, but I hate to pay 3x for something I can do myself.
My car maintenance experience so...
So I pulled my codes and I got a P0138, the book says "02 sensor circuit high voltage (bank 1 sensor 2)".
I cleared the code and will have to drive to see if it comes back.
Any thoughts on the cause?
She needed money and I liked the Jeep so I gave her 2k for it. I am starting to think that was too much though :(
160,400 miles on it
Tires are ok, brakes are ok, Body is ok with the exception of the roof.
It drives well I think, but my 2007 Commander is nicer ;)
She was the original...
