yeah, I'm waiting for insurance to get back with me, depending on how much to fix the unibody damage will determine whether I keep it or part it out... :(
went to the junk yard over the weekend and I saw 5 tubs in good condition...I should have noted the year and make but I didn't think about it...
you can see the inventory at their website

my bad on the pictures...first time linking from picasa...
and you can kind of see the frame rail (is that the frame rail?) damage in this one...taken before I took the bumper off...
finally got around to getting the bumper off...here is what I found...
and here is what it's supposed to look like...
also, the frame rail (I think thats what it's called ... the piece that bumper mount is bolted to) is smashed in on the other side...you can't see it in the picture...
I...
I'll be sure to include a pic of my ass crack for comparison...
so bends aren't frame damage? I ask because if there is frame damage I am going to file a claim so insurance can pick up the tab...
So some jack-off decided to swerve in front of me and slam on his brakes...now I have a nice scar on the driver side of my 97 XJ...wasn't a big show or anything, I was going about 10mph and the airbags didn't deploy...but the bumper is crushed in and the bottom left of the driver side fender is...
well, i have hit a little snag...how do I get the track bar to line back up with the mount? It comes about 1/4 inch short of center hole...spent about an hour trying different maneuvers to no avail...
not to hijack this thread or anything :pirate1:, but I have this problem as well and the air does come out of the wrong vents...I'm thinking its a vacuum leak but am open to suggestion...
thanks for the help everyone...just got the pan back on and engine lubricated...much to my surprise, oil did not spew everywhere...I was expecting something like European Vacation, where he hits the guy on the bike and blood just starts gushing everywhere...
One more question though...how can...
$5 bucks the minute I remove the oil pickup it falls right out...I managed to replace the seal with the pan under there (a little finagling to one side and the other and a can of extreme patience)
I will remove the pickup tomorrow and try it...mainly because I want to laugh at myself when it...
3.5" lift...must be nice :rof: I would imagine it is quite a bit easier...this could be the excuse I need to get one...my logic seems sound...spend $500 to get the rms replaced by a mechanic...or spend the same amount and get a lift to go with it...
I wasn't too concerned...I've only heard stories about the springs firing off...I ended up unbolting the shocks, disconnecting the sway bar and the track bar...still can't get the stupid thing out...I am able to get to the bearing stabilizer bar now though so I'm just gonna push the pan to the...
