I've searched the forum and can't seem to find what the stock XJ pitman arm drop is? I've changed to a WJ knuckle and CavFab steering set up and I believe I need to get rid of my drop pitman arm, but need the factory measurements to confirm. Thanks
For those of you who have the 6” full traction lift kit, did you weld or screw in your LCA brackets? The instructions recommend installing 3/8” self tapping screws in addition to the factory bolts at the cross member, but I’m not sure how strong a self tapping screw w/o a nut is in the unibody...
I found this winch for sale, advertised as a xd9000, but the motor looks different than the current xd9000 that is sold. Does anyone know the story with this older style, and are there any drawbacks?
Lightfoot, I'm planning on doing a RE 5.5" lift at the same time as the swap, so I will go through the bushings. I'm not sure if I will get Poly or Rubber, but its worth the extra $$ when I have everything apart.
Are you talking about cutting off the inner C off the WJ axles? If I did that, what shafts would I use with WJ inner and outer C's but the narrower track width?
The fabrication side is not a problem, I've got a MIG and a TIG. I was not aware that the WJ had a steering stabilizer on it. Did you weld the both the axle bracket and the frame bracket from the WJ? Also, do I use the XJ or WJ unit bearings?
I have read several articles about swapping WJ knuckles, brakes, and steering onto the XJ D30. However, is it possible to swap the whole D30 axle from the WJ to get the steering, knuckles, and brakes? I have not been able to find a direct answer to this question.
Thanks
I am trying to find out what the differences are between the 1st gen. RD06 and 2nd gen. RD116 ARB air locker for the Dana 44. I have an opportunity to buy a RD06 for $500, but am not sure if I should or purchase the newer RD116 if it is a stronger design.
Any one have any info?
