First, have you talked to the Jeep wrecking yards like J&W near Sacramento, CA or Davey's Jeep in OH?
If memory serves me, these parts were only used in rigs from 1989 to 1991 or thereabouts. If you're hitting local wrecking yards, try finding the upscale Wagoneer model XJ as many of them came...
A few years ago I had just the opposite problem with a Spectre cone filter. The chrome center cap dislodged from the top of the filter and landed right in the middle of the Renix throttle body, instantly bringing the rig to an idle. There wasn't enough air flow to move it past about 900 rpm. The...
How cheap would it have to be?

If you don't want to put the RE bracket on, put the stock bracket on the bench and weld on some u-channel and make your own. Putting it into double shear is critical to making this work correctly. I've yet to see or hear of anyone that has used the stock bracket in single shear that wasn't...
That's helpful.
When you can, get it swapped for aluminum. That'll shave a few more pounds off and make it a little easier to handle as the cylinder bottom is flat as opposed to fluted like the steel bottle.
