Junk Yard Score, Folding Front Seats

So how did the project go? You found the seats from the 2-door, and I'm assuming they bolted right down to your 4-door XJ? Or did you have to unmount the seat and bolt them down to your 4-doors seat mounts? Sooo looking fwd to this same mod. thanks

speedo gear sleeve and gear torn up

That's what I was thinking. Wondering if it is even a possibility. A friend said that sometimes there may be a T-case shaft misalignment and it's putting pressure on the speedo gear and sleeve causing it to get chewed up. However, I have zero other symptoms. Curious.

speedo gear sleeve and gear torn up

Forgot. :) 1998 XJ 4wd 4.0 4.56/32” Also if note, that speedo gear probably had 20,000 miles on it. Is it possible for a VSS to fail in a manner that would prevent the speedo gear from spinning, and would then rip up the teeth on the sleeve?

speedo gear sleeve and gear torn up

Hi all - Any ideas as to what could cause this? Highway driving and speedo/odo quit and threw the P0500 code. Had a guy pull the SYE tail housing off and he found that the speedo gear and the gear sleeve were both chewed up all the way around. No other symptoms. Put a new gear...

    Intermittent power steering loss

Hey - did you ever resolve your issue? I've got the same problem with my '98. I ordered a new pump from PSC, failed right out of the box as it dripped fluid which was then spread throughout my engine bay. Ordered a replacement (which they speedily sent out - thank you!), however I'm still...

PSC power steering pump and fitting

You mean besides my 3lb sledge?? Just kidding. I used this kit from O'hannigans http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/OTC0/4530/N2411.oap?ck=Search_N2411_5014060_3141&pt=N2411&ppt=C2371 I made sure that when I was installing the pulley and cranking down the large nut, that the main bolt...

PSC power steering pump and fitting

Prime the pump? I did not do that. There were no instructions. After pulling the center coil plug so that only the starter motor would power the pump, turned the key and I noticed a significant drip coming from I think the front of the pump behind the pulley. Hard to tell exactly. (i'm...

PSC power steering pump and fitting

Ok - so I replaced the O-ring. When I fired it up, again, a fine mist spraying everywhere! I couldn't see where it was coming from as I was turning the key. The fitting at the pump to the high pressure line is dry. The fitting and hose at the return line is also dry. Where else could this...

Rubicon 4.5 Superflex shock length questions

ok - good. Thanks for the information. I've put the suspension into full crunch on one side and full droop on the other (as far as I can tell I've maxed it out). The way that I've currently got it set up, on the crunch side I've got 1" until the bump stop hits. I'm measuring 18" from the...

Rubicon 4.5 Superflex shock length questions

Hi all - I'm replacing my front shocks and am not quite sure I've selected the correct replacements. I've got an old Rubicon Express 4.5 inch (6130) Superduty lift with 32" tires on my '98. Old shocks were: Rancho 9000x The fronts are either the 99255's, or the 99256's 99255...

suspension swap 2001 xj to a FREE 1998

actually, any and all information is welcome. The mileage thing has me questioning whether its the right jeep to swap stuff over to. Maybe should wait for a lower mileage vehicle to come along. I dunno. Just thinking out loud. Clean body, nicer interior, manual windows/locks - is that...
