Jeep Tried To Kill Me! New Steering, New Trackbar with Welded Mount(pops & Wanders)

Re: Jeep Tried To Kill Me! New Steering, New Trackbar with Welded Mount(pops & Wander Toe in is neutral, caster could be a little more more positive but the pop and all hell breaking loose is my main concern at this point. I' m stretched about 1.5" in the front and haven't put on adjustable...

Jeep Tried To Kill Me! New Steering, New Trackbar with Welded Mount(pops & Wanders)

Re: Jeep Tried To Kill Me! New Steering, New Trackbar with Welded Mount(pops & Wander Will do, I am gonna stick a Durango box on here anyway with a C-Rok spacer and supports so I will tear it all down, look for cracks and maybe weld some 3/16 on there for good measure.

Jeep Tried To Kill Me! New Steering, New Trackbar with Welded Mount(pops & Wanders)

Re: Jeep Tried To Kill Me! New Steering, New Trackbar with Welded Mount(pops & Wander Yeah, I aligned it myself with a tape measure but it was still wandering and I took it to Jim at Alignment Shop in Santa Fe and he said I was perfect 0+/0-. he builds race cars and mud racing rigs with all...

    Narrower than stock fan clutch?

Did you pull the fan shroud with the fan as a single unit? I have a 3 row radiator and I have to pull the whole shebang(Fan, Clutch, Shroud) together to clear the radiator.

Jeep Tried To Kill Me! New Steering, New Trackbar with Welded Mount(pops & Wanders)

Jeep Tried To Kill Me! New Steering, New Trackbar with Welded Mount(pops & Wanders) Jeep wanders all over the road but almost threw me in the ditch 20 minutes ago after an occasional popping sound became a loud pop and lost control of vehicle for a second. Here's my Heep's frontend specs...

Flipping Boomerang Shackles with Shackle Relocation Brackets/

I am feeling the need for some longer springs(10 leaf Nationals or Deavers) that might need one of those holes or I would have already cut everything else flat as soon as I figured out which hole was gonna give me the angle I wanted. I'm gonna need to do some more fender trimming and shock...

Flipping Boomerang Shackles with Shackle Relocation Brackets/

Yeah, it looks just the opposite to me and I would have to cut away the rear parts of the bracket for it not to run into the part that gets wider to accomodate the bushing/eye and if I did that it wouldn't matter which way the shackle was flipped. It will be turned back around the way the way I...

Flipping Boomerang Shackles with Shackle Relocation Brackets/

My buddy showed me how the eye/bushing area would run into the shackle bracket upon compression sooner when I had them the "correct" way but of course all of this is elementary if I whack off the rearmost 2 positions but I am seeing some 10 leaf National leafs in my future so I am gonna work...

Flipping Boomerang Shackles with Shackle Relocation Brackets/

That's the whole point of my post. I flipped them around because my friend showed me that the shackle would tuck higher into the shackle relocation bracket that it did angled the normal way. That angle is there to clear the rear bulkhead/rear of the shackle pocket with the brackets it no...

Flipping Boomerang Shackles with Shackle Relocation Brackets/

I put on my LII Shackle Relocation Brackets and my friend swore up and down that I should flip the boomerang shackles so that the shackle can swing up into the relocation bracket more before running into the wider par where the leaf eye is bolted on. It sounded good to me last night but now...

    New! XJ Competition 4-link system!

Anybody running this setup with some after action reports? I know it's a desert huckmaster type setup but it looks like it would crawl with the best of them and my current XJ project is meant to do a little of both.

    DD Steering upgrade which one?

Roger That, if you've got actual "man hands" then you can get enough torque on that jam nut to twist that bar up like a pretzel on the trail and the jam nut still makes you sweat and cuss coming off just to get that mess untangled. For the record I'm gonna run this silly pinch bolt thing since...

    DD Steering upgrade which one?

Whatever point you were trying to make there isn't working very well, Rock When people who like to modify their cars, 4x4s, bikes start getting serious about upping the performance of whatever mundane consumer market whip we settled on we look to the Big Boys for a path our builds will...

    DD Steering upgrade which one?

Sure, sure, that must why you see so many pinch bolt steering setups at KOH, lol

    DD Steering upgrade which one?

I would have suggested IRO's OTK up until yesterday but they switched from Jam Nuts on a solid cold rolled bar tapped and threaded at each end to a split end with the same crappy stamped metal clamps that OEM and Currie use. I just got mine and I'm super pissed off about their redesign BTW.

Who can build a traction bar for my 8.8?

I've tried it a few times and the only thing I ever had any luck with was stick welds and they were pretty darn ugly looking but they did hold up for a couple years of some serious oilfield work. Then again I haven't tried it since they came out with those auto-darkening hats and whatnot. Kind...

Who can build a traction bar for my 8.8?

I'm hoping to stick this low mileage motor in my 98 DD XJ and build a stroker for this one. Is a stroker+4:88s+35s+soft springs gonna need a stronger setup?

Who can build a traction bar for my 8.8?

Yeah, right there on the passenger side. Heck it would almost be worth tucking the exhaust if there were any clearance issues. I wonder how strong that little web is?

Who can build a traction bar for my 8.8?

It's not that big a deal, it's just the "ideal" from everything I have learned. Jut knowing which side of the truck is best is a huge leap forward, lol

Thinking of going to new tires/wheels. Looking for opinions/suggestions

I bought some General Grabber AT2s because they were on sale and I needed a road friendly radial type tire. They were great in the Colorado snow last winter, the daily rain we are getting right now and are giving me a smooth ride and good mileage when the weather is nice even with the studs...
