Right, that’s why I asked about circuit draw not necessarily equivalent amperage to fusible links. I’m sure it’s an unrealistic question unless someone’s taken the time to actually measure draw in various conditions.
I’m only familiar with the Renix, don’t HOs forward have a fuse box with no...
Thanks Cruiser, I’ll grab some 40 amps
While you’re here… has there ever been a good answer on circuit draw per system to replace fusible link with fuses? I’m gutting wiring and going more towards a dedicated off road rig, and I'd like to get rid of all the fusible links pulling off the starter...
Seems like there isn’t great info on the ASD/O2/Fuel pump relays from a Renix, or my google skills are off tonight.
Those of you who’ve replaced them, what amperage did you go with?
Found exactly what I needed from someone else.
Got confirmation that not only does that exact system work on a 4.0, he still is running the setup on one of his race cars. It functions well and is relatively easy to setup even for novices.
Perfect, all I needed to feel comfortable there was a...
Yes, there's always a risk, but that's why I'm trying to do some homework. If the EZ-EFI system is as easy as they advertise it shouldn't be too much trouble.
I've spent over 30 minutes on hold waiting for someone at "The Edlebrock Group" to pickup the phone. Gotta love corporate...
That's part of the information I'm looking for. Yes, it comes with the ability to control 8 injectors, however I believe you're able to set however many cylinders you want to control in the computer.
Looks like a Renix intake with possibly a modified Renix fuel rail to me?
From the pictures...
Has anyone run or have experience with using a FAST EFI retrofit kit on a 4.0?

Looking for any info out there on setting this up on a 4.0 or ideally if anyone’s got a build thread that documents an install. I’m looking at a project that has an...
Those were a PITA on the 95 I just pulled apart. I started to strip one but soaked it with the MAP torch for a minute or two and it busted out.
Maybe try heat and vice grips again? If not, cut the head off.
Good points, yes I do have the bell housing and cover plate, forgot about that.
I’ll be running a NWF ecobox-I under drive coupled to a Dana 300 with 1310 outputs. Once it’s in I am hoping I can reuse stock front cv shafts for both front and rear for simplicity, but we’ll see. Cross member...
Add a manual TPS to that list... what else am I missing? I'm not quite sure in the seal department, is there anything else I need to change on the back of the block when going from flex plate to flywheel?
Here's the updated list:
- Dorman pilot bushing from cj with 0.754 ID and 1.057 OD
- Luk...
Before I hit order on this list I was hoping to get it double checked to make sure I have everything covered.
I’m putting an external slave ax15 from a 1995 into my 1990 Renix that came with an AW4. I’m not worried about transfer case or linkage, I’m going with a doubler and cable shifter...
The deal isn’t done but I should be picking up someone else’s complete swap parts, so no donor with me.
Gearing is the reason I’m looking to swap to the ax15 - I’ll be building a doubler setup this winter too and running a manual sounds good with that setup.
Has anyone in the Sierra chapter done this and up to possibly lend a hand doing one on my 90 sometime this winter/spring?
From the research it doesn’t sound super technical, just labor intensive and time consuming. It would be nice to have someone who’s done it lending a hand, less chance of me...
Got pics of the rewire? Eventually I think I need to rewire my Renix and I need motivation.
Did you have to replace any of the connectors or re-pin anything? I’ve found at least 1 wire that's got the insulation broken right at the connector and would require a re-pin and I think at least 1 more...
Jeez, I was so focused on how frustrating it was trying to get one more clunk that I didn't stop to realize I was figuring the measurement wrong. I think there's a word for that...
Right, the damage is what I was worried about. I was concerned I wasn't getting it seated fully because it has...
Can someone confirm the set depth for the torque converter? This manual I found states 0.650” and I’m 1/4” off from that… but I’ve tried for probably an hour and can’t get it seated any further.
