Senior_XJ,
I'm not sure what you would like me to do past what we have already discussed yesterday.
Eaton supplied us with the wrong part...
Thanks everyone!
What a great time and an even better feeling. TWO YEARS IN A ROW!!!
We missed our NAXJA chase guys from last year, but we had a great team again this year teamed with the Dust Junkies 1706 team and once again it really paid off.
Thanks for staying up late Goatman. That last...
Sorry guys,
I cant do any quotes this week.
I'm in Mexico pre-running for the Baja 1000.
We are off the line in our 1701 Jeepspeed on Thursday afternoon for this years pininsula race.
1073 miles to the win!!!
Thanks and I'll get you all taken care of when I get back next Monday.
Eric
Chris,
The low pinion D30 in the XJ uses a short pinion TJ gear which is totally different from the old CJ LP D30.
I've got a Rubicon housing with an ARB I'll sell you. It's got a Fabtech cover on it and its trussed and everything...:laugh3:
(inside joke)
Quick update:
Got it back together. Finally got the sleeve made for the yoke...
Tigged a plug in the end and drilled a 3/8 hole for the bolt. Drilled and tapped the Output shaft on the T-case
They're the same diameter, but we run a 12.5 in the rear and a 10.5 in the front. Bigger foot print for the rear and less weight for the front.
We only run the 4WD when we need it.
We ran the 1000 in 06 without a live axle in the front and I'll never do that again with 33" tires...
Speaking of the truck...
Almost gotter back together.
Called Coast Diveline in Ventura on Thursday evening and had a brand spankin new 3.5" .095 Chromoly 1350 driveshaft on Friday.
I would love to move into a faster V8 class but the reality is that I have a 2 year old daughter that I want to devote more time to and racing takes up an un-real amount of time.
I've been building this truck with lots of camping and exploring with my wife and daughter in mind.
Plus, I really...
Gonna get rid of the Slip Yoke
A little machining and some drill and tap action to the T-Case main shaft to bolt this Chromo 1350 yoke on to the 4406.
Coast is building me a 3.5" 1350 Chromoly driveshaft.
Should be bullet/Baja proof
Ha!
Pretty much...
We drove it a hundred miles to Ocotillo. Drove better than factory.
Did about 50 miles of dirt Friday night where it absolutely kicked ass, couldnt be happier with the ride.
Saturday morning we woke up, got everyone moving and did about 25 miles before we got to the one spot...
Funny you should ask. We were on the 86 at one point yesterday while in Ocotillo, but the truck is still torn down in the drive right now... So, wasnt me.
Bunch of comedians in here.:laugh3:
Since I'm f'd on shock's for now, I'm going to have some more plates cut to do the front shock hoops similar to the rear, so now I have some time to spare...
I got the E-locker installed in the front housing and plan to get it slammed back in this weekend...
