Well I just came back from my third trip to Moab, UT. This time, I made the trip with my three children crammed in the back of my XJ. I have decided that a tow rig is in my future. An Excursion perhaps, with enough room inside that the children would actually have to unbuckle themselves to...
Just wanted to post a few pictures of the T-Max winch I mounted in my ARB bumper the other day. I decided to buy a T-Max as opposed to a Warn because of some good reviews I had read recently.
I started by disconnecting all my aux lights and ARB locker lines from the mini pump mounted inside...
Is it a controlled vacuum leak? Or does the ECM use the idle air control? I have been having an abnormally high idle bump when my A/C clutch engages, making it difficult to drive in parking lots as the bump causes the vehicle to surge. It also happens as I am coming to a stop at traffic...
I need a part number for an OME shock with eyes at both ends and a similar length to an N36 (13.5" compressed/22.1" extended). Problem is the N36 has a built in bar pin. I would also like it have a firmer valving. Do ZJ or WJ rear shocks have eyes at both ends?
Any ideas? If not I'll wait...
While I was working on my JKS crossover shock mount today, http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=908524 I took the opportunity to mount my Tuffy Rear Storage Drawer. I got the 8" high version with 6" risers. I wanted to be able to store items underneath it, as well as have lockable...
Well I've had this thing sitting in my garage for a couple of months now, and since the weather was great today, I decided to install it. I had attempted to put it in a while back, but was turned off by having to re-route the exhaust and fuel lines. At the time, it seemed like a bigger deal...
The Mission: Installation of an Airflow Snorkel on a 2001 XJ
The Target:
The Area of Operation:
Synopsis:
I recently installed a dual battery system, and this created a challenge in the area of air filtration. As you can see from the above picture, there is not much room left under...
Recently my '01's idle started surging when the a/c clutch engages. It will actually pull/accelerate when this occurs. I searched and came up with what I think could be the problem, but want a second opinion.
The a/c clutch engages every 5-10 seconds which sounds like symptoms of low...
Ever since I swapped the rear discs on they have been making a lot of noise. Mostly it's a chatter type sound. I took a look at them today and found that I could wiggle the caliper back and forth. I checked the caliper mounting bolts and they were tight, so I assumed it was a problem with the...
Calmini is finalizing a solid axle swap kit for the Xterra. Check it out.

Looks like we will be seeing more of them on the trails.

Maybe this should be in Off Topic. Sorry.
Went wheelin' the other week and tore the ARB air line from the bulkhead fitting. I replaced the line with a heavy duty lit from ARB, however when I tested it there was air rushing from the diff vent tube. So, I pulled the bulkhead fitting and the tube had broken off inside the diff housing...
I just converted my rear brakes to discs. The only problem I am having is with the e-brake. I have '01 with a 8.25" rear end and used the Tera kit which is a combo of ZJ parts and Explorer parts. The end of the stock cable will not work with the arm for the e-brake. I read a couple of...
How do I remove the axles in my 8.25? I have an ARB in it. Does that make a difference? I can see the c-clips, but can't figure out how to get them out. I figured that I would need to remove the cross shaft with a punch so that I can slide the axles in to get to the c-clips, but I don't want...
I am about to convert my rear brakes to discs. What I need is some advice about is how to tie in the new plumbing to the old. I need to get a small length of tubing to go from the caliper to the hard line. Also, I think I need to trim the hard line back away from the new backing plate. Maybe...
