Carpeting is the same for both 4-door and 2-door XJs. You might need to trim with pretty much any carpeting.

Sounds exactly what I had with my '96. Sporadically, the pedal would flop around and finally engage towards the end of its travel. I could barely get it to go into gear even with the clutch to the floor. The hydraulic assembly is sold as a unit and technically isn't serviceable. It's an R&R...

I would not take on this project if you're not going to DIY. It would be way to expensive to pay someone shop rates to bring this XJ up to speed. Better off looking for one already on the road and even then be prepared to have it worked on occasionally.

Following this thread. Do us a favor and do a write up. There is hardly anything out there on changing out the heater core on pre-97 XJs, and they appear to be very different.

What's keeping you from getting a title for it? You've been trying to sell it for a while.

Did YJs have the frame rust problem the TJs have had? I wouldn't mind a Wrangler someday (and have had three TJs that were brand new) but I hate to buy a used TJ due to the frame rust issues.

None of us can answer this question for you. It depends on your time/skill and/or how deep your pockets are.

Ya, those wheels could have only been saved by a sand blaster. I gave them away on Craigslist. I need to clean up the wheels I have for it this summer. I'm going to go through the suspension and brakes also.

They are in amazing shape for a '96 with 200k miles. It was a one owner, and it was taken care of mechanically.

Worst case scenario is that you replace the windshield. It's under $200 around here, and more than likely the adhesive holding it in place is dried to the point you'll get leaks anyway.

He's posting that MJ all over Craigslist (it is in New York). I saw a post in the DC area for it. It is beautiful, but not worth anything close to his asking price. There's a reason it's been for sale for months.

The glass must be removed to reinstall the trim. Even a professional glass installer will have a hard time removing that glass without breaking it. I would like to offer up an alternative. How sure are you that the leak is there? Passenger side on these is a common leak from around the dash...
