basically the crush sleeve provides the proper turning torque for the pinion gear. if you remove the pinion nut you are supposed to replace the crush sleeve. when I was in school we used about a 6 foot breaker bar to get the sleeve to crush. it takes about 500 ft lbs. The flat rate method...

What do I have in my oil?

I checked the vent tubes from the valve cover to the intake. they seem to be ok, I did replace them within the past year. I still cant figure out how I am getting do much condensation in there. it never used to be like that.

What do I have in my oil?

That makes perfect sense, I have seen condensation on oil fill caps before and that is exactly what this looks like, but I drive 25 miles each way to work, in rush hour traffic. one drive cycle lasts 30-40 min. so why doesn't the condensation burn off?

Coolent leaking at front of engine?

before you replace the water pump, check the underside of the hose that goes from the overflow tank to the radiator filler neck, if it is worn through you will get a coolant leak that seems like a water pump leaking. just something to look at to maybe save you a couple of bucks.

    Electrically locking 1-2 gear

My 93 has some issues with the 1-2 selection. sometimes when I put it it 1-2 at speeds above 25mph, it will go immediatley into 1st gear. sometimes it will stay in drive and not even downshift to second. other times it will immediately downshift to 2nd and when it hits about 25mph it goes to...

    Odo says, "no bu5"...?

I must apoligize, I misread the first post, speciffically about the loss of speedo and tach, I thought that you were suggesting a cluster would fix any problem related to a loss of bus communication. Now I agree with what you are saying.

    Odo says, "no bu5"...?

that message means that the vehicle has lost the "bus". The bus is the communication system that the vehicle uses so that each module can communicate with one another without a whole bunch of wires. The cluster, overhead console, door module, power seat module, trans controller, body...
