    Any recommended brand Evaporator?

OK, thanks. I was hoping somebody knew of a real good one.

    Any recommended brand Evaporator?

Looks like I need to pull the dash to replace a leaking evaporator core. Is there any brand out there that is better than others? I didn't see any specific ones mentioned when I searched. I already have a heater core that was recommended in a few threads on this board.

    Parting out a couple jeeps

Any chance that you would have a right side, rear quarter window that would fit a 2001? I live out in Tooele County, and could head up to where you are at to pick it up if you have one.

01 cherokee 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel drive

Since this an 01, it has the infamous 0331 head, so it might be in the junkyard due to a cracked head, then coolant in the oil destroyed the bottom end. On a 2wd this would probably be enough for some people to junk it. Check it carefully!

    2001 wire harness

Body harness? Engine compartment? To be truthful I haven't had a XJ harness out, but most cars have a few main pieces rather than one gigantic harness. Here is an eBay listing for an engine harness...

    1988 Renix CA Smog Fail

You need to confirm what your engine temp really is. This could be a sensor as noted by others. But, it could be a thermostat stuck open, preventing the engine from ever fully warming up. That could definitely make it run rich. So, confirm the temperature of the motor when it's warmed up. Then...

New LED headlights, one stays on dim w/ignition on

Personally, I would check all your ground connections. A bulb lighting up when it shouldn't is a classic sign of bad grounds. The current can't get to ground through it's usual connection so it takes the path of least resistance, quite often a light bulb, whether regular or LED. And don't just...

Check engine light goes off after gas fill up!

The sensors are not on the tailpipe on a 2001. That model has the dual pre-cats right off the exhaust manifold and the O2 sensors are just before and after the pre-cats. If you clear the codes, even with a scanner, rather than disconnecting the battery, it will still leave things in a Not Ready...

Erratic Turn Signal - NOT Multifunction Switch

Well, it looks like they are thanking the original posters to this thread for their great responses. Especially Hubs97j for the great photos of the flasher and it's location under the dash. This is the type of thread I look for when I have a problem and need a solution. Great info with photos!

    Best rear brake shoes

I got the middle of the line Raybestos shoes when I did the rears on my 01. No problems in 5 years of driving. I do recommend looking closely at the hardware when you do your brake job. Especially the toothed wheel on the adjuster, and the stop it rides against. These wear and don't function as...

    Slow temp rise

Good suggestions. I do have OBDII software for my laptop so I will set it up and take some readings this weekend on fuel trim etc. Hadn't heard of a hydrocarbon sniff test. I'll look into that. For another poster above, yes, new 3 row radiator and new water pump (not reman.) when I rebuilt the...

    Slow temp rise

Sorry about the delay in replying. Work interfered. Forgot to mention the Jeep only has 80,000 miles, so the cat SHOULD be OK, but obviously could be bad. It's also a CA emissions, so has a pre-cat. But, as I said initially, it never had this behavior before last year. Before it just got to 204...

    Slow temp rise

The electric fan works once temps get high. 217 deg maybe? I also wired a switch in so I can override it and turn it on manually. I use that to cool it down after shutoff so I don't get the heatsoak problem. I plan on running a UOA on the oil to see if there are any contaminants. If I do see...

    Slow temp rise

I've got a 2001 Sport. 4.0/AW4. It only gets driven on weekends and special trips. Last summer it suddenly started doing the heat soak, P0303 bit, along with temps getting a bit high. so I rebuilt the cooling system. I never saw over 230 deg on my Scangauge. So, I installed a new radiator, water...

Towing XJ behind an RV - Tow Harness?

I used mag lights for the first year or so that I towed our XJ. Used a 7 round to 4 flat adapter to plug them into the RV trailer connector. For the next year I mounted an extra bulb in the taillight assembly of the XJ and ran wires to the front of the Jeep and mounted a connector. I use a...

    nightmare time (RMS)

Your local hardware store, or the big box stores like Home Depot and Lowes, should have pieces of brass rod 12" long. You'll find them in the same racks that have steel rod, angle iron and that type of stuff. An aluminum rod would work too. Or, as others have said, even a piece of wood dowel...
