    Driveshaft Chart

Many moons ago I came across a chart. It had the lengths of all of the different driveshafts on XJs and ZJs etc. It was helpful for me finding a DS for the rear of my SYE'd XJ. I ended up with a ZJ as I recall, but now I did this: To mine and need another and I can't seem to find that...

    Replacing 3.55 with 4.56 - Dana 30 Chrysler 8.25

I really didn't "lose sight" of anything. I mentioned your point in my post. I get 15 mpg running in 3rd gear. I drive 24 miles to work 2/3 on the highway. I suggested the experiment if he also drove mostly highway. It could also be a good indicator if the 32's were the only/main cause of...

    Replacing 3.55 with 4.56 - Dana 30 Chrysler 8.25

So anyway going from 355 to 456 will increase your rpm like 28% (456-355)/355 Driving in 3rd gear 1.0 ratio compared to 4th .75 ratio will do nearly the same thing. I know it'd be nice to have the gears, but here's my point. Drive around a tank or 2 in 3rd gear. If this doesn't increase...

    Replacing 3.55 with 4.56 - Dana 30 Chrysler 8.25

I'm running 32X11.5's and getting 15 mpg solid. Don't forget to add 10 % to your recorded mileage when figuring MPG if you are running the stock speedo gear and no other correction for the big tires. I also run my truck in 3 rather that OD. Actually gets better mileage and keeps the rpm at...

    A Little steering problem

Well I did both sides so I wouldn't have to run one shorter sway bar link. The problem was on the passenger side, I just snapped the pic of the driver's side as that was the way the wheels happened to be turned. :)

    A Little steering problem

Did it! Seems to have helped but not a complete fix. Also had a problem on the track bar bracket clearance, but all in all a good fix. Thanks for the idea.

    A Little steering problem

I'm gonna try to do that this weekend. Sounds like the best, simplest, and cheapest idea. I'm gonna do both sides so I don't have to shorten one link. Make both sides the same. Thanks for the idea.

    Hack & Tap vs. SYE

I got the PORC. It was like $178 I think. It came with everything needed. I did have a few small issues, but nothing I didn't expect. Bolt on is never truly bolt on as we all know. They also sold the AA for just over $200 as I recall.

    Hack & Tap vs. SYE

Didn't have to remove the T-case. Got the HD SYE for just under 200. With 100 for the H&T + 40 for the adapter it didn't seem worth it to go cheap. Plus as I said I like being able to switch the front to the rear in a pinch. MHO

I'm getting the JCR's wish I would have had them before last weekend's trip.

    Hack & Tap vs. SYE

By the time you figure the adapter, the HD SYE is about $40 more than the H&T. It was a no-brainer for me. I like having the DS hot swappable too. I can bring that front right to the rear if I break or damage the rear.

another vibe thread, sick and tired of vibes, i really have no idea anymore

Everyone always says that but it seems that in practice it's nearly impossible to achieve. In the front I would have to go with 0 deg caster to achieve that 1 degree, and in the rear I'd need probably 8 deg shims which would wrap up my shock mounts a bit. I have a 4.5" lift. I'm running an...

    A Little steering problem

Thanks for the input. If I use a drop pitman, how much should it be? I have a RC 4.5 inch lift. I have adjustable uppers and am running 5 deg caster to get my pinion up to 7 deg. I have the LP30. I hate to add any more caster to fix this as I had front vibes at 8 deg caster. Is it possible to...

    A Little steering problem

When I was hooking up my discos last night I noticed some gouging on the bottom of the link. I found that at full right lock the link on the steering rod coming from the pitman arm is right up against the link and bracket. I need to figure if anything is bent aothough it doesn't look like...
