    SJ model?

http://www.wagoneers.com/FSJ/FSJ-AIM.txt quote below from this site. "There are still discussions about whether Jeep really made a 1988 J-10 or not. And then there is the recorded fact that while the Wagoneer model line was officially terminated in 1991, there were four 1992's produced, the...

MJ slop steering & very bad wobble incident

I would check the lugs... I bought an MJ that the previous owner I'm guessing removed some nicer rims/tires... Drove it home ok...then off to drop it off elsewhere...front drivers side wheel fell off whilst going 45, muckered up the rotor, stripped 2 lug studs. Lugs loose, checked the other...

    92 XJ's transfer case exploded??? 127K?? WTF?

92 is non disco. Are you saying the lifetime lithium non-greasable ujoint failed? I've been using them now in...everything...no probs yet. Haven't heard of anyone having probs with them, Brute Force... Teron

how to fix head oil leak

I just did front/rear seal, valve cover gasket, o-rings, timing chain seal(after harmonic balancer, it was leaking a little). Now...I too have a little oil seepage at the head...it's very minor, and nothing compared to the o-rings, rear main and valve cover gasket that used to be leaking a lot...

    Tire size

Whoops my bad. 225/70R16s, on XJ, 225/75R16s on WJs... I bought a set of STs off of a WJ and that 225/75R16 which is yes an inch taller than a 225/75R15 is stuck in me head. The 225/75R16 is a nice size on a stock XJ as well. sits as high as a 235. and close to a 30, at least in my comparisons...

    Tire size

Never seen limiteds with 235s standard, or any XJ for that matter with factory 235s...always 225s. The 2001 Limited I test drove and luckily didn't buy had 225/75R16s on it, Icon rims. 225/75R16 is larger than a 225/75R15 That's the largest factory tire size I've seen on an XJ. 30x9.5s will fit...

    Smooth Highway Tires?

Yes, you already bought tires, but to chime in for others reading... If you're nice to tire places in town, and haggle... I've paid $340 initially for a set of 4 235/75R15 Cooper Discoverer ATs, and now get them for $300 that's out the door total with tax. They're an AT, but they wear well, and...

    30x9.5 on stock alloy rims

To forego all rubbing on a stock XJ w/ 30x9.5s, the secret is...Jeep OEM 15x8 rims, TJ Gamblers, TJ Canyons, and the new TJ ravines as well. They fit/look great and no rubbing even at full lock on the control arms. I've done this on several XJs and MJs from 85-96. From crappy GY GS-As, to the...

    i got hit today

One, this BS about digital pics not being accepted... I've unfortunately had 3 accidents over the past several years, 2 of 3 not my fault, and the other is arguably not mine, but johnny law says it was. Anyhow, each adjuster used a digi-camera for the pics, and that's all they've been using...

    Possible Tranny Swap

AX-15s were only in MJs/XJs from mid year 89 and up, not before and lasted till the end for the MJ, and till the end in the XJ(SEs reportedly got AX-15s, others the NV3550s). Teron

    94 XJ country edition.

:wow: Actually, the Country trimline replaced the top of the line Limited trimline in 1993. At least in 1993, 5 speeds were available with the Country line, though difficult to find, as much as a 93 5 speed ZJ is. The Briarwood replaced the Wagoneer Limited in 1991 and 1992 and then never saw...

    Sentry headlight system

Removed under drivers side dash box, and buzzer from 89 MJ Eliminator with working sentry system. Moved these into 90 MJ Pioneer without sentry. My guess is I'm missing a relay or something under the hood? Would like to get this system working, anyone know all the components to the sentry...

Need Opinions before buying another XJ tomorrow

Since you're asking for an opinion... autotrader.com do a search. 97s around here have been going for as low as $2500.00 w/ similar miles. Found a clean 93k mile 97 XJ for $3400 OBO. I bought my 96 XJ 2 door sport all the goodies for $2000.00 138k, over a year ago! Teron

    Wheel U-Joint

I like to get info myself from people who have done things as well. I also recommend having at least a haynes/chiltons for your vehicle, and definitely recommend having a factory service manual. I find my 96 XJ service manual(for the 96 XJ I used to have), is very useful for any year 96 and...

What to look for in the xj I'm thinking of buying??

Congrats on the new XJ. As far as the rattling, my 87 has almost all of the christmas tree body plugs stripped out, so the whole panel rattles. I'll take care of it when I gut the interior to POR 15 it and then truck bed coat it. The rear interior side panels tend to rattle/come loose as well...

    Back Up Lights

jeepin.com has a great write up on how to remove and clean the NSS. Not sure if it is mentioned, but white lithium grease makes it really easy to slide the switch off the post. It's also rather brittle, especially in this colder weather. Teron
