I finally got some time to work on this over the weekend. I did see that I had a trailer wiring setup which I believe was part of the problem. I got all the lights to function as intended, and then even got the LED's to work as well.
After several hours of getting to this point they seemed to...
As luck would have it, now that I'm nearing the end of the build I'm running into more electrical gremlins. I know.. I know Just Expect Electrical Problems.
My initial intent was to do a full LED exterior install along with the new High Beam headlights. This went reasonably well until I got...
You can measure your tie rod end to tie rod end dimension to give yourself an idea of how long your new 1-ton tie rod. The drag link you'll just have to measure.
If you choose to go OTK, be aware that you will likely need to cut things like the steering damper and sway bar mounts to get it to...
Bringing this back to life after some time away.
Starting working on the front end after getting fed up with fighting the leaf spring bolts.
New Steering Gear
New Bored Out Pitman Arm
New Front Coils and Bilsteins

Mocking Up the Trackbar

I just picked up some of the RE 3.5" lift springs with shackles for mine to replace a worn out rough country kit.
Amazon has pretty good pricing comparably.

Subaru has officially lost a ringland, so I'm hoping to speed this up a bit and get it on the road. Such as life sometimes I guess.
In other news the Tuff Stuff bumper came in yesterday and I'm impressed. It even came with two clevis'. Pictures to come a little later.
Made a little progress this weekend. Mostly battling the leaf springs. Got 3 out 4 bolts out successfully, but the drivers side front bolt snapped about half way out. I tried the double nut trick to no avail. Looks like I'm going to have to weld a nut on it.
Also pulled all the shocks and rear...
Finally pulled the trigger on the Tuff Stuff bumper and Ruff Stuff Panhard bracket/heims. Lots of goodies showing up this week! If only I can find some time to get those leafs outta there.
The folks over at Ruff Stuff have absolutely wonderful customer service. I talked to Rob this evening to...
KJ brakes on the way. I'll try to make my way out to the salvage and pull some backing plates this weekend hopefully.
Fingers crossed I can make some headway on the leaf spring removal this week. I'm not looking forward to that.
Aright, well I think I've got the KJ parts list rounded up to compare to just refurbishing the drums. Looks to be about $100 - $125 more to go to disks versus the drum maintenance kit.
I'm really tired of throwing money at this, but $100 seems worth it to not have to dink around with the drums...
I must have missed that on the initial list. Unfortunately I can't go back and edit now. I got a reman'd steering box, pitman arm, and steel steering spacer with new gr. 8 hardware.
I actually started looking at rear disc options to compare with just doing the maintenance on the drums. I had...
Found the remains of the steering spacer..
New Wheels/Tires are looking good!
Bilstein's came in.
Getting close to done with the final layer of insulation (MLV).
Some sideways pics of the leaf spring destruction.
Drums are looking pretty rough. Rebuild em' or do a disk swap?
RCP - I see what you're saying. I guess I'm a little confused/frustrated as to why all the aftermarket kits like this seem to be using the inverted T style in replacement of the more factory-esque Y style. I emulated what seems to be the status quo and now to reverse it I'd need to order another...
