    Buggy XJ Running ROUGH

Fixed it! Faulty CPS from Advance Auto parts was driving my computer nuts. A new one went in and it fired right up. Thanks for the help guys, I know my jeep motor 10x better now...

    Buggy XJ Running ROUGH

It has an aw4 from a 98, started running like this after the swap. MAP sensor is plugged in and vacuum line hooked up. When I unplugged the MAP, it wouldnt run at all...

    Buggy XJ Running ROUGH

I swapped in a new trans and this is how she is running now. I put in a new CPS cause I crushed the old wire putting the new trans in. It didnt start with the old CPS, but ran like the videos above with the new one. This is an 88 cherokee with the non-HO renix motor. Any thoughts? I'm...

    New Trans, No start

So if anyone can help me out, they might be my life saver: Here's waht I have for the wiring situation with the trans... I have isolated off the NSS wiring (which I am assuming I no longer need because of my bypass switch) The other plug out of the two has the following wires in it: Plug on...

    New Trans, No start

Well it ran just fine when I didnt have TCU in it all last year. I only recently put the TCU back in with the old trans. As of now, the TCU is plugged in, but the two plugs that go to the transmission wiring are not plugged in. The plugs are between the transmission dipstick and oil dipstick...

    New Trans, No start

A beam of hope in a miserable situation. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the trans? The TCU is still hooked up under the dash, but nothing plugs into the trans... The motor is running awful. Sounds like the timing is way off. Its backfiring out the exhaust. Sounds like computer is...

    New Trans, No start

I installed a new CPS and now I am getting spark, but the engine is running like absolute crap. It wont idle, it will only stay running if I mash the gas pedal. It is back firing and missing like crazy. Any thoughts? It ran just fine before this transmission swap....

    New Trans, No start

I have an 88 Cherokee buggy thing. It has the original 88 motor in it, but I just swapped in an auto trans from a 98. It had an auto before, but it was worn out. I have the original CPS hooked up, but neither plug from the transmission is plugged in. I have the starter hooked to a push...

    4 link ?s

This guy should be on pirate, but reading not asking questions. I spent almost 2 years planning for my 4-link and it still didnt come out perfect. Buying Deaver springs isnt much savings if you are building the 4-link your self. A rear 4-link is good on the street, but plan on chopping the f...

    Roof weight/loss

Most of the weight is in the windows and the doors, roof does not weigh that much... Since you should have a cage anyways, chopping the top will save you some weight, removing the windows and the hatch at the same time also helps

    Custom Track Bar setup

On mine, I put a hiem on each end, misallignment spacers on the frame side, no spacers on the axle side. I used 1.25x.125 Chromoly with welded inserts. I used right hand and left hand threads which was the BEST idea on planet earth. I can adjust the trackbar length just by loosening the jam...

    pics of interior bed liner

To reflect the heat, use DEI Floor and tunnel shields, thats what JP said worked the best at reflecting heat. You put it on the outside of your jeep, I plan on putting some above the cat because thats where my floor board gets the hottest. The stuff is kinda pricey at $30 for a 2'x2' piece...

    88 XJ Improvements

I used 5 21' sticks, including my screw ups, so right around 100'. I have some leftover to add to it once I roll it and have to cut the top off. :)

    88 XJ Improvements

Thanks for all the drawings, I think I will add those gussets. Definitely not hard to add them. My A pillar is as close to the dash board as it can get. My light switch barely contacts it when I turn them on. Routing the cage through the dash would be the way to go, but it is not very easily...

    88 XJ Improvements

Getting in isnt too bad on the passenger side, but the driver side has the steering wheel which makes it even harder to get in. I wish I had put another bend in it and pushed the bottom foward... Thanks for the info on the gussets, I think some gussets sounds like a pretty good idea. Any...

    Any one running 39.5's

Cuttin the floor board ain't bad. I did it two nights ago. First I grinded down the pinch seam so that the floor board would seperate from the side piece Then I pounded the floor in with a BFH and left the side piece where it was. I folded the side piece down onto the floor board and...
