    96 XJ Feeler

Yes 4x4, straight 6, AW-4 auto, D30 front, Chrysler 8.25" rear. unfortunately the '96 could go either way on spline count and I never pulled it apart to count. It does have discos on the front, overhead console that displays the temp, lighted sun visors and a nice aftermarket stereo and...

    96 XJ Feeler

Hello all, Daughter was rear ended in my '96 4-door and the insurance company totaled it. Black, 3" lift, quick disconnects, adjustable track bar, nearly new 31's, 140k ish miles. Tow hitch took the brunt of the impact. Bucked the cargo area, right rear quarter and some down the side. Still...

    Bad Front Bearing?

I'll have to try putting it back on stands and pulling the front tires. I had it on stands at one point and while the wheels turned and it was making the noise i got out and looked around. Perhaps I missed something. She has u-joints up front. maybe one of those?

    Bad Front Bearing?

I put the whole thing on jack stands, threw it in 4wd and let the wheels spin while i turned the steering wheel. no sounds at all with the wheels stopped. Rubbing sound only occurred in the right turn with the wheels turning. I did spin the wheel by hand and yanked on it and didn't feel...

    Bad Front Bearing?

My daughter tells me she "did a 'curb check' and not there's a funny sound coming from the front when I turn right." WHen I get back to town I test drive it and in right turns, the sharper the louder, there is a sound coming from the right front axle that sounds like knobby tires rubbing on the...

    Brake upgrade

I swapped my 93 booster for a 95 and it bolted in and difference was night and day. The 95-96 is bolt in, after that you need a spacer.

Problem cranking, once warm, once hot

By crank I mean the engine turning over. There's juice. As I mentioned, all the lights and radio came on as normal and when I jumped the starter solenoid the starter spun but did not engage. By engage I mean extending to meet the teeth on the torque converter to turn over the engine. I also...

Problem cranking, once warm, once hot

This problem has happened twice. The first time was about a month ago. Wife drove to work(3 miles), went in for a minute, came out and it wouldn't crank. All the lights and radio came on just fine. By the time I got there a few hours later is fired right up. and has every day since. Second...

    Installing a ZJ/XJ overhead console:

    Installing a ZJ/XJ overhead console:

Is it the the console that has the visor clips integrated in it? If so, that's where the front mounts. Drop the free-standing visor clips and the holes in the console should line up. If it doesn't have the clips there should just be a single screw hole.

    Surging when just start driving.

Also there was no visible sign of damage or problems, not even a check engine light.
