Here's one for ya-
So I'm replacing my front hubs and the damn rental torque wrench I'm using takes a dump and doesn't click...nothing. So I'm quite positive I've overtorqued on of my hubs. I then removed the nut and retightened using my 150 ft/lb torque wrench. I gave it a little extra...
I'm sorry I may not have been as clear as I thought...
The stumbling/misfires occur only on the first start of the day and only within 30 seconds (more like 20) of starting. The stumbling will only then occur for no more than 5-10 seconds (closer to 5). Lately my idle has become smoother than...
Forgive me,
How does a sticky IAC affect this? I'm not quite sure how it works, I understand that it controls the idle (I think anyway) and I know it's never been cleaned. Perhaps I'll start there with some throttle body cleaner...
Like the title says, it stumbles/misfires on the first start of the day, usually within 30 seconds of starting and only for about 5-10 seconds. Happens regardless of shift position and engine loading. I'm assuming it has something to do with the fuel system.
It's a 98, stock, 154,000 mi...
Thanks fellas (and ladies if there were any), this was all information that I thought I knew, but after hearing a talking head on the TV machine, I figured I'd back it up with some experience.
Thanks for confirmation of what I thought, there were some very informative testimonials.
Regarding source: Spike TV on Muscle Car I believe. The gentleman referred to Rotella as a good oil to use during break-in, but said that one should not use it for regular use due increased levels of sludge build-up that will result becuase it was a diesel oil. However, he did not say what...
I'm opening a big can of worms I'm sure...
I heard today that Rotella T, with regular usage, may lead to increased sludge build up in a gasoline engine. (I'm assuming in the oil pan)
I was under the impression that Rotella T did the opposite in that the increased level of detergents in the...
My 98 (150K) does the same thing, summer and winter. I run rotella 10w30 year round. I had a mechanic tell me that you only need to have 1.5 psi of oil pressure for every 100 RPM. So at 1000 RPM you'd be looking for 15 psi. When you step on the go pedal, does your oil pressure go up?
I'm...
I guess I was basing my decision to drive between 40 and 50 (not while trying to accelerate to faster speeds) on this like on go-jeep's site:
http://www.go.jeep-xj.info/HowtoSpeedoGears.htm
Though I am not regearing, I am trying to find myself in that range of RPM which will cause my engine...
